This video, specially the last part about Snapchat (Snap) and how they managed to leverage GCP to focus on their core business and application functionality instead of worrying about infrastructure reliability and scalability by handing it over to GCP is an eye opener!

even though I am a long time client with DigitalOcean, I didn't get how really app engine works. First thing I don't understand the pricing scenario of google platform at all

Actually, App Engine sounds really interesting. But I find it harder to get started than I expected. The docs are kinda inconsistent and the explanations are confusing (at least for beginners like me) and it doesn't seem like there is a whole lot of documentation available for the endpoints 2 framework for Java (but it seems to be pretty new, so maybe there is more to come). But maybe that's just because I'm not a professional and I don't have a lot of experience
