The threat of ransomware attacks has increased for all types of businesses as well as local and state governments. University of Florida researchers are working diligently to create ransomware solutions to combat this threat.
It is wise for businesses and governments to set up measures to protect against ransomware as these attacks can result in loss of data, loss of revenue, and theft of highly sensitive or personal information.
More than six years ago, UF researchers developed some of the first ransomware solutions. Today, the continue to develop solutions to protect against newer, more advanced ransomware variants. The goal is to transfer these solutions from the lab to the industry.
