So there is no distortion at all, how would you rate this speaker outdoors & how would you compare the sound to the Apple Homepod, specially the lows

@@jaspalkohli527 yes it can. There is no distortion. The sub drivers are exceptional. Easily better than the apple speaker. Great outdoors too.

Sir, what about the battery back-up? Is the battery endurance rated at 10 hours with 50% loudness? Is the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on and in use together.

Thank you so much for providing this sound demo, it's probably the video that convinced me to get one of these, particularly due simply including a frequency sweep and analysis of what the unit is outputting. I listen to electronic music with a lot of sub-40hz bass, and I'd basically assumed that there would never be something truly portable that could reproduce those frequencies. I don't need it to be room-shaking, but I've just wanted something that wouldn't straight up DSP those frequencies out. It ends up being quite literally listening to tracks with beat just removed. It sounds wrong, and makes me feel like I need to create playlists that only include tracks with basslines above a certain frequency.

Hello thank you for the file and video. I am very interested in this speaker. Btw I think you have a typo in the description of the songs used. Shitty Rain -> should be Shitty Train :) O and Cashing up slowly -> Catching up slowly. I think they actually have one unit for testing in one shop in the town, I will go there to hear it for myself :)

Thank 🙏 you very much for all your efforts. I appreciate it very much. I am a Devialet Expert user and own an Expert 200 since 2015. My complaints with the Devialet Expert 200 are the built-in phono amplifier and the streaming engine. But my biggest annoyance is Devialet's upgrade philosophy in this case. So those were all the negative points about it. However, I am highly enthusiastic about their technology. The Expert has been running for several hours every day since 2015, but it's not a solution for on the road, or even on the balcony or terrace. Everything that I would have to listen to mobile has so far been ear cancer. Now, you can't expect any sound from the Devialet Mania like from studio monitors a la Genelec, Neumann, PMC, etc. It's certainly not a high-end sound. Nor is it a high-end sound firework like Bowers & Wilkins, Fischer & Fischer, Focal etc. But your test and both video clips with all of your explanations about the Mania made me take a closer look at it. Thank you 🙏 again. You definitely have one more subscriber and your other videos sound interesting, too. I'm interested in your SSL console. Have you ever made a video about it? Please keep up the good work. With musical greetings and a "Servus" from Bavaria

@@lukabosnjak3829 Thank you for your tip. I had not even considered the Vifa Oslo. However, when I look at the critical Amazon reviews and especially those from Germany - OMG typical again, always these Alemanni and then the reviews in Amazon - no, seriously, there are some points. Sorry, the speaker grill is supposed to be easy to bend, subterranean manufacturer support, 18-volt charger, app somehow 3 years old and not very well maintained, battery status LED, etc. The component is also a bit older. It's almost 2023 and then 450 euros for a product from 2016? Then Devialet has experience with the Phantom Series big small loud quiet and so on. Furthermore the SAM technology and with all their current patents. Not all that glitters is gold, even at Devialet. I have already run into a brick wall as a customer of a device that now costs almost 5 digits. Nevertheless, I had to tolerate their illogical upgrade policy in the matter of Expert Series amps. But technically, three founders come from the space agency ESA, I dealt with a technician after a long detailed personal conversation at a trade fair. Appr. 3 hours lifetime on both sides. I've already been through a Yamaha amplifier and KEF speaker nightmares. Was I going to charge KEF for their wireless speakers? The Marshall mobile units were also on my radar. Why does Marshall deliver different series under the same name in different countries? I'll save the explanation from Marshall Sales Support here. Thanks anyway for the tip, they are really welcome. Enjoy always the music. Servus and Greetings 🖖

@@btsr2553 You are reading some specs on paper, Vifa Oslo already sounds better than the Phantom Reactor: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aLKejLd8t5rVko0.html Also has push-push woofers (SAM tech as you want to call it) Yeah its an older unit but its a speaker, I want a speaker to play music, not to have some gimmicks and Oslo is the best so far, also sounding even more detailed and linear than phantom gold probably means that its better than Mania in my eyes 👀

Thank you for your video. I listened to the whole Video with my Sennheiser Momentum true wireless 2. After that, I listened to some of the music tracks from the video directly on my Momentum from Apple Music. I think that you still have to change something in the audio recording. If I had to decide on the purchase based only on your video, I wouldn't buy this Mania. My two JBL Xtreme 3 sound much better in stereo mode than this Devialet Mania. But probably you just have to listen to the Mania live to form a correct judgement.

I just got this speaker yesterday. I also have two jbl extreme 3's & a host of many others. This little guy is impressive as hell with the deep lows that blow the ex3 away. However, it does sound very point based. Very detailed sound, but not a very impressive Soundstage. I have 2 minirig mini mk2's, 2 minirig mk3's & 2 minirig mk3 subs. On a portable platform & price that is pretty much equal to this altogether, it doesn't hold a candle to the separation & air of the minirig system. Even the 2 Dali katch G2's I possess have better separation. This will however impress ANYONE you show it too in terms of bass & clarity. It's that funny! It's soooo small

I just got this speaker on Tuesday. I have been running it through its paces in the last few days. I'm not sure if you've heard the Bristol based minirigs sytem at all, but I urge you to have a listen if at all possible. Without the basic aptx or even aptxhd codecs, this thing doesn't remotely compare to a full 4.2 minirigs setup. It's all centered sound, without precision separation. The bass is the only thing that is lacking on that setup. I haven't heard any type of portable that offers bass to the degree of which the mania does. If you value true stereo hifi signature, just purchase a pair of minirigs mk3s & run a spectro on them. They are nearly true flat with minimal peaks or dips.

This isn’t my only source of music. I’ve a linn Arnos surround system, lp12, Cyrus complete signature set up too. I wanted a simple to use portable speaker to take around the house that sounded better than the alternatives, they also had Alexa.

@@BitsBytesBobs I apologize for that then. Given the circumstances & price for this unit, the minirigs system is now my favorite & the cost for all 6 speakers is equal. I agree that on a portable level, there's nothing that comes close to it. I had to turn the bass down 1 & raised the high up one since I find the sound better at countertop level, against the wall. I have Diamondboxx L3 & sub 8.2 bt speakers that have the same lows & clarity. They're marketed as portables, yet at over 60 lbs between the two, are hardly desirable to carry as a portable. I'm listening to vocal jazz & love warmth this thing dishes out. The size is definitely hilarious. Lol It's definitely a new world compared to old school speaker size & capabilites

I'm also,only getting 16 bits at 44.1 kHz through my device with HD enabled. I may purchase an Astel & Kerns dedicated player for this, since it's so accurate given its diminutive size. As a travel speaker, there's nothing else that could top it

@@BitsBytesBobs Don't get me wrong, the sound is very good. However, when running th Dalis with aptx HD at a higher sampling, the sound is more airy. Breathy vocals, percussion & stage are all full & open. It's not the fault of the drivers on the mania, as much as I believe that the sampling is slightly inferior. The sound just isn't as crisp

Personally, I would say this is most certainly the best portable speaker available, but more so, the best home small speaker too. Yes, it's expensive, but once you hear it and use, you see and hear why. At the start of the test, you can hear a 20hz to 20khz sweep, followed by a 20hz to 200hz sweep. I would download the hires file and listen out at the start, the second test, and you will hear the deep audio in the sub frequencies. You can see this also on the spectrum analyser too.

@@BitsBytesBobs I wouldn't call it the best probable speaker without hearing the Vifa which are unbeaten so far, Oslo is alredy better than Phantom Reactor: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aLKejLd8t5rVko0.html And Copenhagen 2.0 is the same price as Mania...

@@lukabosnjak3829 Not saying that the Vifa sounds bad, just some comparisons. Vifa does 50hz-20hz - Mania does 20hz- 20hz (but officially 30-20hz). Vifa has only passive radiators - mania has 2 subwoofers. Vifa has 2x tweeters 2x mid range - so equivalent of 2x speakers in output - Mania has 4x full range speakers. Vifa has Bluetooth 4.1 Mania has Bluetooth 5. Vifa not IPX rated Mania has wifi 5 Mania is louder (more db) Mania has a better sound stage, also adjusts itself with software with 4x microphones to where it's placed for optimum sound. Think the Mania has bigger battery.

@@Glenno7 Sorry but you have no clue man. Specs don't matter here not to mention that you have it all wrong. Copenhagen is larger than mania but it has 2 silk dome tweeters, 2 aluminium midranges, two push-push subwoofers like the mania and 4 passive radiators. It does 50hz @-3db, mania does 30hz at like -50db (unbearable) not to mention that Copenhagen 2.0 is louder than Aiwa exos-9 and wayy more powerful than Mania. Oslo is more in size with Mania but blows it away in tearms of quality: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sLOZfKWArZ-leaM.html , Devialet is a toy. Also Vifa has aptxHD, better materials
@Glenno7
@Glenno7 Жыл бұрын
@@lukabosnjak3829 So I have no clue?? Vifa has woofers (not push-pull) and not subwoofers like the Mania, passive radiators are not speakers. You said specs don't matter but then justify size/materials/loudness? As the Vifa has only woofers, it cannot go as low as the bass of 30hz (20hz measured) on the Mania it just can't! - 50hz is a higher frequency go research the difference. Claiming the Mania is a toy makes you sound like a noob. The link you sent (BTW isn't a Vifa but a Onlo) sounds tinny/hollow compared - in most reviews the microphone is always placed Infront of the speaker, catching the sound face on. Which can make them sound more powerful/louder. The Mania has it's speakers facing up at 45 degrees and subwoofers facing forward and back. With KZfaq using compression, it won't sound like being there live - also what you hear is your speakers reproducing the sound of their speaker - not so real. I have heard the Vifa and compared it to others live, it sounds good, but it's got older tech and does not sound the best anymore. I have a 2x Beolit 20 and a Mania - the mania just sounds better in real life. If you are going to boast size and materials then I have another bluetooth speaker called a Soundboks that will rip your face off for loudness, as in it hurts at full volume - but the Mania can still produce lower notes though. Sorry if you are offended because you have a Vifa, but as with life technology changes all the time and the vifa2 is 3-4 years old now, it was the best portable speaker but not anymore.

Not had a chance yet. But 10 hours does seem plenty. I have read that it depends on volume. You would need to set it quite loud outside to take advantage of the sound. I've noticed it prefers to be driven at around 60% or more.

Great sound demo. But the Devialet speaker himself is very strange. For a portable speaker it's too expensive (and doesn't sound much better than a $200 JBL), and for a home model it sounds terrible for that price. Well at least the look is good.
