The golden days of unbox therapy..... I never missed a video.

Can't believe it's been 5 years! Feels like yesterday. I vividly remember seeing that video on the same day it dropped. 19m views since, wow!

5 years ago he was angelically praising a new product and 19M tuned in for the ride. Today, he is precipitating about a button in his hoodie while reviewing a similar product. There is nothing inherently wrong with this. People change over time due to a variety of human experiences. Perhaps the new product isn’t as exciting. I just hope Lewis is still experiencing joy and fulfilment producing unbox therapy.

The Devialet Mania rocks! We reviewed it and really liked the sound!

The Phantom Gold have had a couple of software updates since then, so it sound much better now than before. Had mine for 3-4 years now, still «blown away» by them. - Looking forward to listen to the new one, cool product.

And yes, its portable(with a battery) and also with that bass technology you feel in bones. It's basically devialet reactor with 3 more speakers, batteries and alexa. So you can spam a bass everywhere lol.

I love the laughter of insanity in the original Devialet unboxing. It still got me curious to buy one. Maybe start with the Mania.

Yeah, I was 14 at the time and I have been looking vividly on eBay for a used one, that somehow magically sells for an affordable price, ever since.

This thing sounds great for its size but there are luxury speakers that can go up against this pretty well for much much cheaper

Idk why Will is throwing shade at him 19million views can make a HUGE difference for any company let alone the whole video being a glowing review. If only a measly 0.1% of the people that watched bought it that's 19,000 units sold and 57million in revenue. If a more standard 1% of viewers bought that's that's 190,000 units sold and 570,000,000... over half a billion in revenue. Definitely a game changer for any company.

They are targeting confused people that doesn’t know that size is all that matters in audio.

Good video, thanks! ☺️ But I have an important question: I got mine yesterday, i love the sound basically, but if i listen to some tracks with an hard bass like some house or techno tracks and adjust bass/treble to plus 3 or higher and i go at 75% volume, than it sounds like the mania couldn’t handle that bass, it sounds like overdrive, like the membranes hit something or the air couldn’t get out from the inside… but that’s only with bass heavy songs, in other normal songs i could set it to +3 or so and go to 100% volume without this problem, so inreally don’t know if it’s normal because it’s simply to much bass for this thing if i put the eq to plus or if my mania is broken… 🤔 And it’s only on one side, not on the other which is strange too, but that could eventually be because it’s not exactly the same on the inside on both sides ? The thing is, i think if the speaker would be broken, then it wouldn’t play without distortion if i put the eq on neutral and 100% volume because that’s allready bass heavy, or am i wrong ? But at the same time i am a little bit disappointed because on a premium brand with the i think most expensive speaker in this class that shouldn’t be possible to acchieve an distortion in my opinion, even if i adjust the bass to +6! Could anybody please try this song and put the bass to +6 and go about 70% so i know if i have to send it back or its normal ? The song was: „Kolter - washed away“ and i heard it on spotify via airplay

Mania software version 1.2.4 Airplay is OUT OF SYNC with the rest of the airplay speakers!!!!! Devialet KNOWS the ISSUE, but CANNOT FIX IT in a MONTH!!!!!! Buyer beware!!! This is horrible customer experience, I paid almost $1000 USD for a speaker that does not work as it should!!!

Is anyone else gonna mention how he completely skipped over the fact that it adjusts the sound profile based on its surroundings and went off on some stupid button rant

Here’s the problem with Devialet. They make great hardware, no denying that. However their software is absolutely unacceptable garbage. What’s it matter if how good the speaker sounds if it doesn’t work at all half the time? How do I know this? Trying to sell them while working at a high end integrator/hi-fi shop. Attempting to demo them was often a nightmare. Just say no.
