In this episode of Stepic Experience, Stepic shows off his polyphonic skills and its ability to bring motion and randomness into sound. Although there are only 3 other devices (Analog, delay, reverb) in the process chain, we end up with a very rich and deep sound structure. Everything is in motion - nothing repeats itself. That's Stepic!

It isn't the best Max4Live sequencer -- it's just the best sequencer out there, bar none. But if you use Ableton, the Max4Live version is so much better than the regular VST version.

Can you also use midi notes (chords) as input? Would be handy to switch chords with.

Hi nice device ❤. I will buy this. However I have a feature request. It would be awesome if you could assign each step to a separate synth so you use one sequenzer for multiple synths. Maybe by choosing midi input from Stepmeister ”step 1 etc”. Just a thought. 😅

Yes, with Stepic you can tie multiple steps together.

Currently, Stepic only works with Ableton Live.

Yes, Stepic can modulate VST parameters.

Okay, maybe this is the dumb question for the day. I am new to Stepic(VST). I have figured out how to do the random dicing, polyphony, and I am getting nice John Cage-esq felt piano tune. Its good. But how do I add another track to the same sequence? Eg for percussion. I cannot see that in the manual. Do I just load another instance of Stepic in another track? But then all the settings will have to be duplicated?

Can you link different vst's to each of the 8 channels?

Yes, with Stepic for Live you can assign the 8 channels to virtually any parameter or device in Live, including different VSTs. In MIDI-CC automation mode, this is also possible, but the target plug-ins must support parameter automation via MIDI-CC and be connected to Stepic's MIDI output by being on the same channel or by routing Stepic's MIDI output to the target channel.

I purchased the bundle...VST works fine. The m4L device though does not open when I click on the "open stepic" button in order to authorize it...☹️☹️☹️
