Some of the technologies have in Motogp bike are very amazing with engineer experimenting many mechanic on the bike to make the bike faster than the other competitors. As Motogp is a prototype bike, it can be a creative way for the engineer of the manufacturer making this and as platform of their technological inovation making the brand more apealing to the consumer. What I don't like about is that with more technological advancement Motorcycle seats becoming broader rather than narrower & taller rather than smaller. Also increase of weight rather than decrease. For example I can flat foot a 90's or early 01-02's bike with both feet but only flat foot with one leg in todays bikes at stock height.

I wonder when they will be able to lengthen rear wheel base for starts....I guess with a chain it would be tough to do, but am sure they will figure something out.... Lower the bike with 1 or 2 inch longer wheel base and then kicks into normal after 80 mph..... Interesting

you know what's funny about Ducati? give a Ducati to all riders on the grid, a small amount will perform with it because it's a complexe bike and it has a bad feeling with the front. you have to trust it with your guts. give a Yamaha to all riders, most of them will make a good lap in a short time. that says a lot about the pseudo "tech". of course Ducati is advanced but they don't master it. they are always adding things on top of an already difficult bike to understand. all they have is disgusting power and traction. that doesn't make a good bike to feel good and perform on it. bring back the slick looking bikes with 200-220 HP it's widely enough. keep it simple. simple doesn't mean not advanced.

It's becoming more a about the bike and less about the rider. That's why moto 3 riders get promoted to moto GP as the jump is not as big as previous years. The reason why Moto GP was so much better the FI for the last decade was that the rider's ability was just as or more important as the bike.
@RacingRoman44
@RacingRoman44 2 жыл бұрын
I desagree. Look at the Honda as long MM was fit he could hide the weak side of the bike. The bike was a winning bike with him on it. Why ain't nobody has won on the Honda since he was injured? Why can't nobody be this fast as Fabio on the M1? The level of the bike performance is high and it takes a talented skilled rider to be a serial winner 🏆
@flinskikun
@flinskikun 2 жыл бұрын
That's somehow true. But I think if there is nothing like this, meaning that they are lack of innovation which sets it apart from the other motorcycle racing championship like WorldSBK. Having those kind of device doesn't mean that the rider lacks skill improvement, instead now we can see who are the faster riders, not only the lap time, but also how fast they adapt to new things.

I believe that these device's should be removed, let the riders compete in a manner that requires the winner to be the one who is naturally the most talented rider. At the moment it's almost as if the rider is a secondary issue and it's all about manufacturers and money. I am old school and we always would say. " Let the best man win" Now it's a case of let the richest company win. Doesn't seem right to me and nothing is really based on personal achievement anymore.

Nope It has always been about the combination, A rider will likely win on a bike that behaves best for him Technology or not. Setup is most important and these new devices are just an attempt to outhandle the other Bikes out there as is the new Aero packages. The Team have to figure out how to best make them work and for the greatest gains, otherwise they aren’t worth adding. This is the development side of MOTOGP… It might be nice to go back to racing raw motorcycles where the complexity is just in an ignition timing system and fancy dampers in the suspension but we don’t race in the past and there is room to start a new Class of Motorcycle Racing if the interest is there. My 1981 GSX1100 is high and wide in the saddle but still pushes all my buttons at speed. I’d love to do track days with her but I’m currently living in the outback …

2 things, imho, need 2 be addressed. The start of this front end lowering credit should probably be given to the drag racing industry. Drag bikes have been lowering and strapping front end suspensions for years. The dirt bike community aboaolutely took it a step further to suit their industry. Also, not only does the front end hole shot device lower the overall CG of the bike but it prevents the premature raising of the CG by keeping the suspension from extending. This keeps the weight forward and lower for a longer time. Finally, the CG of the bike is not at the crank shaft. It's a bit higher than that and even more so when you add in the rider. Piece out, thanks Simon.
