Tabassum ji thanks for talking about Devika Rani Ji who was a pioneer in Indian cinema: *Devika ji was well educated in England, stylish & sophisticated for her time. *She married Himanshu Rai and ran the studio alone. *Was instrumental in discovery of Madhubala ji and Dilip Kumar ji. * Was the first to kiss onscreen. * Was the first lady studio owner of Indian cinema. *Owned one of the biggest estates in Bengaluru called as Tataguni estate. *She married russian artist and famous painter Roerich who has a museum still active in Uttarakhand/Himachal. *She lived in a hotel during the final stages of her life along with Roerich as Tataguni estate and it's vastness couldn't be handled and managed by the couple. *Her assistant reportedly amassed huge wealth. *Tataguni Estate is still home to large number of rare birds and other animal varieties.It also has a seemingly huge pond that can service the entire area. *The couple was childfree.

But I think you forgot to tell us that she was the first recipient of Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the biggest honour to the contribution of Indian Cinema. She was conferred with Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 1969.

In end days of her life she had lot of forgetfulness. Her personal assistant took an advantage of this. She took power of attorney from devika rani and slowly started accumulating her wealth. Later when Devika rani ji passed away the Bangalore police found the assistant had been forging signatures and accumulating wealth. The case went into court and The government of karnataka won. The assistant is jailed. Now her entire estate and property is been taken care by Government of Karnataka.

What a credit she has. She introduced and was the BOSS of the greatest actor of cinema history DALIP KUMAR. She hired Dalip Kumar at a salary of Rs 1200. God knows why did she give so much salary to Dalip Sahib when ha has no movie in his credit. The entire sub continent is indebted to her for giving a great Actor to industry.
