I think you'll get knowledge checked a lot in blue ranks so try your best to learn the matchup with popular characters. One way to do this is by looking at your replays and taking control to figure out your options

I think he's a pretty honest character now. I feel like the patch forces you to be a more fundamentally sound player and be more methodical about throwing out heat smash. So I gotta work on my frame data knowledge and punishes if I really want to succeed in these ranks
