Yeah the message and meaning of this speech has definitely changed for me of the last couple of years. I've been reading something recently actually kind of changes the meaning behind the Adam and original sin. It's always said that it was giving into temptation that was original sin, I've been reading it was originally concupiscence, (had to look this up) meaning excessive desire, particularly sexual. Desiring more than you require. When you run that out, yeah it kind of means the same thing but its not really and the implications are very different.

@@froggy187888 It was wisdom/knowledge that was the active ingredient in the apples god did not want adam and eve to eat. Once they did they recognized they where naked and clothed themselves with fig leafs (or whatever), god upon seeing this was furious as his creation was soiled by it. In my eyes the original sin is ignorance. Had they known the consequences they may not have eaten the apple

@@cerebusrex-u1721 maybe I need to go back and read the bible again. Could you tell me if you know. How/why did god want wisdom/knowledge withheld from humans? Was it particular knowledge found from eating the apple or was it more generalised? Ignorance being the original sin seems a bit confusing when they were then expelled from Eden for obtaining knowledge. I was thinking more from the angle of, God told them not to touch the tree, which reminds me of like the 10 commandments and such. Then it was the snake that convinced eve to try one, leading her into temptation as it were.

@@froggy187888 because to him his creation was perfect in his eyes with the absence of self awareness through the lack of knowledge/wisdom. But after being bestowed with both from the forbidden fruit they lost the innocence god cherished in his new creation knowing that knowledge will also sully their purity and drive them to unfavorable ends due to its devices. In the end I surmise god wanted his creations to have the innocence of a child who in the absence of knowledge would remain so until its last days. A creature of purity devoid of evils because its devoid of it's own personal evolution and awareness.

He was a good actor. His earlier movies showed he was an enormous talent. Then somewhere down the line I am not sure where exactly he changed. He realized that all he had to do was show up and because he was who he was they would shower him with money. I think the challenge went out of it for him at that point. The end result just as with Robert Deniro and a bunch more he has been phoning it in for years maybe a couple of decades. They are all massive has beens now. Such a shame. Bruce Willis is another has been. It is all about the money nowadays for all these used to be's. Bring back Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon Pacino. That Pacino was an actor.

Earlier in the film, Milton tells Kevin that their law firm doesn't have anyone who deals with homicide and similar types of cases(which is what Kevin does). I think Kevin asked him why he needed a criminal lawyer or something like that, and Milton says "Our clients break the law just like anybody else. I'm just tired of sending their business across the street"(to other law firms). So in this scene, Milton is basically saying, "It's ours to lose!" because this is a huge case involving a rich and powerful client that _could_ make a lot of $ for any firm that wins it. Eddie Barzoon(the big guy) wants to call whoever they'd normally call but Milton is ready to trust Kevin. That's why he later asks Kevin, "You gonna fight for this thing, or what?" He was asking Kevin if he's ready to step up and prove he's as good as Milton tells everyone he is. I get the feeling that Kevin is who Milton hoped Eddie would be, and the other guy with the glasses seems like he's trying to show that he could(in his own way) be the protege Milton wants Kevin to be(or a 2nd one).

To avoid copyright infringement from Frederick Hart's sculpture, "Ex nihilo" that had appeared on the facade of "Episcopal National Cathedral" in Washington D.C. That's why.

The sculpture? It's an interesting story. The sculptor Frederick Hart sued Warner because he said that was very similar to his sculpture Ex Nihilo, on Washington National Cathedral. He said that the use of the sculpture in the movie distorted its intended meaning, by portraying is as demonic rather than a representation of god. Warner Brothers settled and airbrushed it out to have a different look.

I remember renting this on VCR and all the tapes had a disclaimer about that massive white sculpture in this video saying it was a replica. Always thought that to be strange as even the tapes rented from blockbuster video had that as well. Anyone have any idea or info why?

They were sued by the creator of a sculpture called 'Ex Nihilo' that sits in the National Cathedral in Washington who sued on the basis that the sculpture in the movie is too similar to the real one and was used without the artists consent.

@@cerebusrex-u1721 There was also the issue that the sculptor created a religious work and felt that his work was misused by the thematic part of the movie. Court’s got it right on this one. Worth reading about. We studied it a copyright class

@@ninjanoodle2674 that's a shame. At least it wasn't some otherwise idiotic censorship. They should maybe try to change it for something 3d that's more on the spirit of the original, but distant enough, though. The thing they have replacing it looks almost like a cheap photoshop swirl-blur rather than a sculpture.

At first, that seemed odd but perhaps we can assume that the firm handles various matters for Colin. Eddie said that Colin was a business client and we later see them meeting at a development building, so it's fair to say that the client has a lot of legal matters that need attention. Given how many practice areas the firm is shown to cover during the introduction meeting with Kevin, it wouldn't surprise me if 3-4 different attorneys worked on Colin's matters and billed their hours separately, thus accounting for such a high number of billable hours in one year.
