I would argue that Checchetto is due a great deal, if not an equal share, of most any praise this title garners, not to take anything away from Zdarsky, but dat art is amazing.

The funny thing is.... Was superheroes every really legal? Cap is a gov employee along with most heroes. Street level heroes are all illegal. Spiderman is a influencer now and probably dead.

@@beautifulsoul3281 there’s a lot new a different. Still political but in a different way. Also smaller, and less convoluted. Has a lot better characterization because they can really focus in and no one seems too out of character.

@@fours1524 well actually believe or not in 2017-18 in a previous daredevil run they did deal with it but then nick Spencer’s spider man run started and nobody gave him the memo on it so they retconned it

@@fours1524 he did actually outlaw heroes in Daredevil, but he got attacked by The Hand so Matt became Mayor and set all the heroes free to save New York. Bit weird they're doing it again

Zdarsky's Daredevil has been playing with it a lot. Definitely recommended, as this event's spun out from the events in that book. (its also like, one of the best books Marvel's putting out right now.)

A couple of subreddits think if Daredevil joins the MCU the first season of the new show would essentially be a setup for a MCU version of this story.

I think that would make an interesting event movie for street level heroes, but it shouldn't be the first season of the new show.

The specific storyline involves Matt and Kingpin forging a temporary alliance against a greater threat (The Hand I think) Kingpin becomes Mayor with Matt as deputy mayor and assisting with prosecution of The Hand. Eventually things go south and that leads to the storyline that ended with Matt going to prison and Elektra becoming Daredevil.

I know some of these big events are hit and miss, but I for one (Having not yet read Zdarsky's Daredevil 😫) am SO glad to see Fisk returning as a proper villain to the MU. This looks genuinely great.

He's also the 4th most popular marvel character. It's a shame how underused he is by Marvel, he should be getting forced into everything like Spider-Man/Wolverine/Captain America/Iron Man and Captain Marvel.

Daredevil just has tendency to not have an outright bad run doesn’t it? Cause I’ve heard pretty much every run from the modern era get called either good or great.

The past 2 decades have had great Daredevil books, while every other character has only had 1 or 2 good runs max.

@@JustapErson that’s not entirely fair to some other characters like the x men (especially if you consider all of the different x books), Batman, and superman. If we’re talking about mini series too then most characters have had great stuff in the past 20 years.

I started buying Daredevil comics 20 years ago because my father loves the guy... same with Spiderman and Avengers... i droped the last 2 from time to time because they have some weak or really boring things (One more day for example) But DD is always good, never get boring about him and even the Netflix Series is good the only stain in his media is the Affleck movie... i bought spidey comics again when DD was with him fighting Kraven´s daughter.

I just love how in comics the mayor of a city is basically the President and can do whatever they want without any Federal interference. They do it in Batman comics, too.

@@aleanddragonITA Him and Ben were fighting the U-Foes, they were doing pretty good against them. Untill X-Ray launched a big attack at them, which negged Peter because of the radiation from it. It didn't effect Ben because his new suit was protecting him from the radiation, Peter is now in a coma.

the death at the end of issue 5 is actually very sad. that character have gone through so much trying to live as a real person and died in the end, lets hope the rock he was carrying can be used again to bring him back again.
