It seems as if though every violinist plays this different. At least from the recordings I've heard, each one is just a little bit different, especially in the first movement.

I have given some thought to it through listening to this exact interpretarion (always have a hard time finding the artists name because she Korean and I have a hard time with the language). I’ve been hearing it since 2015 or 14 if I’m not mistaken, and well, I’ve had multiple chances of feeling it under different circumstances that had me going through a wide array of emotional states while I listened to it during this past 9 years. Anyway, I think what nails it in this particular playing of the Trill is the perfect combination that the accompaniment seems to accomplish to support and at the same time to extend the depth and weight of the main melody. I like what it does because it makes the cadence sometimes fully comprehensible and easily hears through, while in other parts it fills up the void that I guess Paganini purposely left so the violin could whine the most- don’t get wrong in this, I just mean that I believe when this came out, the composer wanted to be praised by his violin skills, so it’s natural that silent spaces are left surrounding the highs and lows of the melody -which sounds uneven sans accompaniment. I love this interpretation though, is my favorite, and I believe it’s precisely because of the pianists way of connecting and completing the soundscape like giving us a fuller picture than the violin could alone. I could be wrong though. Gail Satan

@MaryMoreno Yeh, I agree. Every violin has a player match, and a different... Temperament, should I say. I had to try every violin in the shop until I was lucky enough to find mine! Now, I wouldn't change it for the world! Unless, it was unfixable.

JumpingTomato, no need to feel bad for the page turner. You have to be able to read music to get that job, and since she obviously can read music, she's probably in music herself and gets her time on stage performing.

So I like her interpretation better than Perlman's....very strong playing. A few flaws but Perlman does too many glissandos, sounds too schmaltzy to me, so I like this one better.
