I DO NOT OWN THIS VIDEO. I'm putting it out for the world to enjoy since it doesn't exist elsewhere as far as I can tell, and whoever made this car deserves mad props.
This was the file name I had for the video when I saved it like 7 years ago:

This is the closest to real life Devil Z ever created in my opinion. It was created by the production crew of the 1991 Wangan Midnight live action movie, a cinematic masterpiece I WISH I COULD UNDERSTAND since I don't speak nor read Japanese.
But what I was given at one point that I saved with the video was a build sheet, take this as you will:

Car was built by Speed Shop Shinohara for the film and its first sequel. The history is foggy after that. They were an L-Type specialist that built various Fairlady Z's, including one for zero-yon racing in the late 80s.

@@twrcrew8852 Why would the turbo sounds need to be dubbed? I'm gonna have to agree, the blowoff really does sound like someone blowing into a pipe, but this Z really does have a twin-turbocharged straight six, and it really is a high-power monster like the "Devil Z" depicted in the fictional story is, so I don't understand why a fake turbo sound would need to be recorded when the car depicted in this film has the perfect engine for recording and (I assume) is the same car producing the engine note heard in the video. I'd like to think that the turbo sounds were recorded straight from the engine in that car, too.

@@undividual3891 it's confirmed fake. Cars in movies always get dubbed over. especially from this era when live recording are dirty and full of wind noises and don't capture a moving car's sound well.

I miss the old days of tuning . Say 80s 90s and early 2000s when high hp wasn't so obtainable to everyone. When 800-1000 hp was a rarity. Especially in 6 cylinder cars. Good thing innovations like traction control and boost by gear came along as well. I'd say E85, engine management and injectors bigger than 1600cc have made the most improvements. EDIT: not a Salty old dude or anything just feel like there's some passion lost.

Since when is 800-1000 hp (street legal) no rarity? Car tuning in general is still extremely exclusive no matter where you live. If you aint in the business or got quite a big amount of money to waste you cant afford to drive cars like that.

The "Devil Z" in Midnight Racing Team is ABR S130Z. Its not S30Z but still a Z. It reached 302kmh on Yatabe Track in the 90s, which is ridiculously fast.

there is no known footage of the red Z but i think the sound bit we are listening to came from it. also I think Video Option may have footage of it they used to record video footage of illegal races back when they 1st started. it's only a matter of when they are going to release it or maybe it was deleted. update: Woops sorry this is not the red Z sound but ii did find a short video (a long one) of the red z in action for a while The APR S130z ran in the yatabe max speed trial in 94 and 96 however this one is from 97 it has a red z even tho it isn't the APR S130z it probably was something as a homage to it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nd2dd7R_09XJm2Q.html

The "Devil Z" is based on ABR Hosoki red S130Z from the Midnight Racing Team. It did 302kmh on Yatabe Track Max Speed Trial back in the 90s. So yeah, the car is real but its red and its not S30Z.

Yes it is, and the rivaly of Devil Z vs Blackbird is also real, except the Real Life Devil z Datsun 240z was Red colour while the Porsche 911 Blackbird was Redmaroon/red wine colour.
