There are 3 ways to tell if it’s a real Devil May Cry game: 1. Does it have taunts? 2. Does Dante get stabbed on his own sword? 3. Does someone say “Jackpot!” at any point? If the answer is yes to all of these, you’re in for a great time.

After attacking with Yamato, Vergil sheats his sword. If you let the entire animation play out, I’m pretty sure it counts as a taunt.

A bit weird... Because when I play DMC1, the europe version i can only do one taunt animation. "No taunts in DMC2" yup, and it's just piss me off or nitpick me a bit. A simple "come on" taunt animation would be nice, even if it's the only one, but no... None. In SMT: Nocturne, he have his "provoke" as a skill, which is satisfying... Then again, Nocturne came after DMC2 and make DMC2 Dante the way he supposed to be in his own game.

@White-Van Helsing Well, not really... And i mean, when I do in the midst of battle with like Absolute and Stylish... I have to let go the trigger (R1) to do taunt... But still end up with only one animation. Keep in mind, i can only play the PS2 version of DMC1... And i have the Europe version... That is quiet difficult compare to HD version that's based of Japan version. Still, it's better to have at least one than nothing compare to DMC2.

But I tend to forgot to taunt while focusing in the fight lol because not only the fight that i need to survive, i have to battle with low fps because of a crappy pc lmao So i guess that means the HD japan version, you can do the taunt animations (not just one) regardless you not even in combat?
