Off the opening draw Matt Rempe and Kurtis MacDermid drop the gloves, but that wasn't the only fight as everyone to start the game gets involved. Eight players were ejected after the antics off the opening faceoff.

Haven’t watched a nhl fight in some time. They use to throw their helmets and gloves off. This was like a Olympic boxing bout, with the helmets on. It has got to hurt their knuckles when they repeatedly punch on the helmet. Uppercut’s are the key here.

TNT camera crew dropped the ball. They have to be in communication to pan wide or know who is going to focus on who and flip back and forth. That's what the headset and mic is for, gentlemen. Get it together.

You gotta kinda make a choice since you can't see all five fights in a meaningful way (because it turns out there is actually nuance to hockey fighting) concurrently and the fact the devil's goalie declined the challenge/a goalie challenge being offered at all is meaningful in hockey. I suppose it also isn't worthy of noting if a particular player didn't back up his team in a fight in the NFL right? Or if a pitcher in the MLB throws at a hitter and the other team doesn't retaliate? God forbid they spend maybe 3 seconds of air time on the ONLY FUCKING ALL STAR ON THE ICE AT THE TIME CALLING SOMEONE OUT TO FIGHT! You ever even touched a hockey stick down there in South Carolina?

Learn from the past… kings vs ducks had the same thing but waited after the first fight was done then waited for the puck to drop second fight and so on till all five fought through five whistles 3 seconds of the clock. Since any fight after the first they are booted out. It made it so they stayed in the game and were able to fight again 😂

I've said numerous times Rempe is going to end up like Brett Lindros. Eric Lindros' younger brother who was a decent player and had size like Eric but he fought everyone constantly and ended up retiring real early because of concussions from fighting

They dropped the gloves first. So they were the only “legal” fight. Anyone who drops the gloves to start a fight when another one is already happening automatically gets kicked out.

they were considered to be the first to drop the gloves. the other fights were secondary and so they got misconducts. honestly, don't like the rule but hey.

Thanks Adam and Gerald for explaining it. Tom Wilson was first fight 3 years ago against Brendan Smith but the refs that night tossed him to prevent future nonsense after he made racial taunts at K’Andre game prior.

He was never a fighter, he had a handful of fights in the AHL, then in his first game the outdoor classic Martin challenged him to a fight, and it got so much coverage everyone assumed he was a fighter, next game challenged to a fight, then every team stuff guy wanted to fight him to justify there position on their team, this Rempe mania is born. He’s a decent skater for his size can win Faceoffs if ever gets the opportunity and as we know can screen a goalie.
