Ninth devlog for my Labyrinth Lesmosyne, my turn-based dungeon-crawling RPG, developed in Godot.
Progress this week:
00:00 Announcing the title of the game, and a mockup-logo
02:47 Items now usable in the overworld
03:56 New brick, stairs, and door assets
05:06 WIP central building in overworld
06:48 Talking about digital art experiment
07:37 Labyrinth Lesmosyne feature in Coin-Operated Press zine

The main inspirations for the game have been Shin Megami Tensei, particularly Strange Journey, as well as Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, and Pokemon. Like SMT and Pokemon, the game has a recruitment mechanic for party members.

It’s catchy and rolls off the tongue, so I don’t think it will be particuallary difficult to recall! Good SEO, too. Logo is very legible, play around with it for sure, but this is a great base to spring off of. assets look great!

I'm glad you think so! And yes, SEO was a factor too. When I search "Lesmosyne", it shows up in a few pieces of music and like one area of someone's Roblox game, so I think I think the title can occupy a larger share of that word on the Internet than if I named it something "Mystery of the Dungeon" or something.
