This video features DeVotchKa performing "How It Ends" live in their headlining slot of the 2008 Monolith Music Festival at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater. It was recorded from the festival and arranged by Andrew Mairs.
DeVotchKa's music finds a most surprising yet amazing pairing as developers of arguably the best video game in history have chosen the title track of "How It Ends" to score the trailer for Gears of War 2. Gears of War 2 is the award-winning and highly anticipated sequel to Gears of War, perhaps the most successful Xbox release in history (www.gearsofwar....). It is a tactical shooting game that challenges users with survival components as well. The story-driven game revolves around revenge as a band of Delta COG warriors return to battle the Locusts. The graphics are amazing, the characters deep, and the gaming beyond anything currently available. The game was developed by Epic for exclusive use on the Xbox 360.

I think alot of people aren't really Devotchka fans, but rather a fan of this awesome song. I've listened to some of his other stuff and while its ok, none of it comes close to hitting me as strongly and emotionally as this song does.

I was there, lol. My best friend's mother is married to Tom, the guy playing keyboard. He's a really awesome guy, and has two kids now named Lhasa and Lydia. They both have his black hair, and they're just darling. his step-daughter's pretty cool too. The band's really nice, and very friendly, even if the inside of their van is kind of sharp... lol
