Күн бұрынIn this project I am going proper "Grimdark". I am going to the gallows. The inspiration came from seeing Tabletop Witchcraft's Hangman's Tree build. I wanted to do my interpretation of the gallows in this grim and dark build. I hope you like it! 👍💙💛💙

Hey good folks! I hope you like my latest build. I wanted to step away from the XPS foam and show you how I made this tree from natural resources anyone can find! In this build I went much darker than I have ever gone before and I am very happy with the end result. What do you think? Please tell me in the comment section below! Oh boy, this is the kind of thing I expect to find in the ruins of Mordheim.. once a lovely tree the locals could enjoy in the square then after everything descends into nightmare, some of the few remaining surviving sane locals and unfortunate adventurers are strung up by the cruel and insane.

I love using natural stuff for projects! Crafting can be surprisingly expensive and these free materials can produce amazing results. This tree is hauntingly creepy. Well done!

The build was already great, but the moss and converting it to a gallows tree pushed it to the next level. Amazing build!

Awsomely done brother. More grimdark! As it is, the world is ficked up so we need something dark to make the real world look shiny and fun. As for what to do about 10k followers i say invite your fans to Lilla Edet and give them a guided tour... it will be quick. Well im of to "show some love" as you put it to that Viking looking skeleton making fella.

Leif your builds are always so inspiring to me. Everytime I watch a video I wanna follow in your foot steps and paint a miniature or build some terrain. I love all the small details you put into your builds that you don't have to do that not everyone will notice. Truly from the bottom of my heart you deserve way more subscribers than you have now. Here's to 10k more. If you haven't figured out something to do for 10k perhaps you could do some sort of miniature competition or build competition?

Oh gosh, can I be honest? I own one copy for the PS4 and one for the PC and I have played like 1 hour of it. It seems amazing but man, focus and time. Will have to check it out though! 👍💙

Fantastic work Leif! I love the supporting ropes around the tree, gives the whole thing a load of depth!

I totally agree! The ropes does give it a nice silhouette as well! Plus I have seen some builds where the well..."victim" is tied to a branch, and then somebody has I guess used a ladder or floated up and tied the rope to the branch and it just looks wrong to me. Does that make sense?

@@DevsDice makes perfect sense! And frankly I'm glad you did it that way because the alternative is just a bit boring! There's an argument to say that simply tying the rope to the branch is more historical (look at pictures or even photos of gibbets for example) but hey! We're not doing historical reenactment here! While it can be useful to let history inform our settings, we're allowed to make our fantasy settings fantastical!!

@@DevsDice I am (or was?) an airbrush artist for almost 35 years! But it's never taken off or really gone anywhere. A few years ago a friend gave me a copy of Photoshop 7.0 and I started learning that. Then I went to school online to learn to be a graphic designer and they gave me photoshop, illustrator CS6. But it wasn't until I discovered crafting DnD terrain that I really found my niche! Now I watch every crafting video I can find! Lol!

To celebrate your 10.000 followers you should do a minis of yourself on heroforge and paint it. Afterwards, you could use it in your videos for size comparison every time you paint a new mini or craft a new terrain.

If you're looking for an idea to celebrate this and get out of your confort zone, may I recommend the anabasis from Xenophon. It's the story of 10000 Greek fighters fighting their way out of Persia. Seems relevant. :)

Another awesome build! Yeah, I’ve gathered a few bits of bark and rocks from outside to add to bases. Using the hand drill is a great idea to affix the parts together before glueing, painting, and accenting. The crows are REALLY cool! I have to get some of those.

Well, a couple of things in my opinion: it brings the colors together and settles in the shadows (which indirectly makes the highlights pop more)! 👍😅

No worries! Yeah a Zenithal prime is a way to shoot brighter paint on top of darker to simulate how light and shadows would land. So your airbrush essentially is trying to "be" the sun! Hope that makes sense! 👍😅
