It's refreshing when a tool channel reviews something different from DeWalt and Milwaukee. Well... technically there's a DeWalt here but a Metabo HPT is something uncommon on most North American Channels. Thanks for sharing

Oh, cool! I'm pleasantly surprised to find anyone reviewing a Metabo tool. IMO, they are way underrated, and probably the most overlooked tool line. Everyone is covering DeWalt and Milwaukee, and the Team Yellow / Team Red competition reminds me of the Cola Wars back in the 80's. Two other factors to consider are price and warranty. Metabo costs less at regular prices, and they occasionally have killer deals. Picked up the hammer drill, triple hammer impact driver, 2 batts, charger, and hard case for $125 on a Lowe's Black Friday deal last year. Always worth mentioning that Metabo has a tool production lifetime warranty. As long as they are producing that tool it's covered.

Awesome comment. Yes, I own/use all the brands, I'm def a little biased towards Metabo and Makita. Absolutely over looked and underrated, SO MANY NEW tools coming soon from them in the near future. You can even double dip on sales, get a buy one get one or similar deal in Lowes AND get a free battery from them direct on their website. I believe they're currently running a battery bogo right now. Unfortunately many lowes in my region are no longer carrying a full line of tools, just the nailers, compressors and miter saws. Very disappointing. Yes I will mention warrants in future posts! I had MANY more Metabo HPT tools to give my long term two cents on. Make sure to follow and tap the notifications for new videos, i'm putting them out weekly or more frequently if I can. Circular saws next!

it also reminds me of the Ford vs Chevy wars from back in the 60s & 70s while the other brands would be Honda and Toyota. So overlooked back then but they are now the #1 choice for many households

I started buying hikoki which is the same as metabo from Amazon Japan. They have tools that we haven't seen here. There's 6 1/2 circular saw is 36 volt 5,700 RPMs and with a good mafell or festool dust bag picks up 90% of the dust. They also have a 5-in saw that's 36 volt 7,000 RPMs and it's a screaming demon. He comes in a few different configurations The one I have has a built-in dust box that pops off or a different one you could put on with the vacuum hose I use it with a mofell dust bag and it picks up 95% of the dust. I love that little saw

Yes yes! I've been shopping around amazon/ebay for some of the awesome tools that aren't available in the US. I'm def going to look up those saws, they're new to me. GREAT COMMENT! Thank you for the information. I want to eventually import/order HiKoki tools like the ones you've suggested to use on the jobs and review eventually. That's a short term goal with the channel.

Mostly interested in Metabo's 36volt line because you can slap that AC adapter on it.

Super nice option to have right? That's why I purchased the multi volt cordless 10" double bevel miter saw. Portability when needed without loosing 120v power.

Great video. I’m a weekend warrior. I’ve had a couple metabos for a long time (hitachi) and it’s time to upgrade. Do you think it is worth spending the extra money on the hammer drill version of one of these vs like the dw800? I don’t use a hammer drill very often and have a corded one - but was thinking if I’m going to spend the money anyway - should I get a hammer drill version. Hope this made sense. Thanks!

Well that's totally up to you and your needs. My thought on it is if you're using the drill often but rarely need the hammer feature you're carrying a lot of extra weight in the drill. I did this for many years getting started I used a regular drill driver because it was lighter and easier to use and when the rare occasion came I needed a hammer drill I kept a corded hammer drill for backup. It all comes down to how often you'll be using the hammer feature.

It's definitely nice to have don't get me wrong. But that's only a decision you can make knowing your workload. Thanks so much for the comment and the support as I'm growing the channel totally open to suggestions and ideas for videos and I'm always glad to help if I can. Thanks again!

@@ProToolsApproved thanks for the quick response. I tend to agree it is probably overkill/extra weight given I rarely use the hammer drill feature. Thanks!

I partnered with Metabo HPT to beta test an early production unit. They had some employee changes since the time I received it, i've never gotten a direct answer on when or if it'll be released in the US.

I have had a hitachi ( Metabo) drill and was very disappointed in the power and being able to hold a bit securely. The drill bits would come loose regularly so bought the Dewalt DCD709 which impressed me then recently bought DCD796 which was more powerful then the DCD709. Both Dewalts are a joy so the Hitachi I will give it away as it has been a waste of money. Sorry no Hitachi Hikoki or Metabo drills for me. End of story. Diy'er form UK.

And that's why there are diff brands of everything out there. We all have our preferences, likes, dislikes, etc. Out of curiosity, what model MetaboHPT/Hitachi is it? I have a particular one in mind, it was known for being extremely underpowered, I had it for a while myself and gave it away also, plastic chuck, very 'entry level'

I don't recall, maybe had low battery or was maxing out the drill, going into protect mode. I'll have to take a look tonight to tell you for sure.
