You are such a magical artist Harriet, I fell in love with each of your sweet characters, including the little visitor!!. I have used Arteza metallic paints, the colors I have are very translucent not at all saturated, but I do like them quite well. I have always been terrified of neons but now that I have seen how you used them, I will order the set you used. ♥️

I've been using hand made metallics for a while now and was very frustrated at first. I buy from a couple of different makers. They both mentioned that the pigment takes a lot of 'waking up' before using the paint. I add quite a lot of water and work it gently for a minute or so in the half pan before using. They can be 'challenging' but are also lots of fun when they work!

Beautiful! Funny you chose butterflies as I’ve been having a ball painting them. I gathered all your tutorials with butterflies and now I can add this one too! How you combine the colours is magical to me. I would have never thought of any of these colours and yet I love how they all look!

ooh what a lovely video and gorgeous paints Harriet. I was tempted and have popped onto the site and treated myself to a couple of the holographic paints and 3 dot cards. Which mean I can try the paints at a price I can afford. I thought your use of the paints was very thorough and the quality of the paints good. The 'no filler' won me over. I know you are very careful about what you recommend and expect other things to be of a high standard similar to yours. So appreciate this video. Thank you

Beautiful butterflies 🦋 quite expensive colors though….csy handmade in Germany are my go to for metallics on Amazon for those of us that don’t have that much in funds…not $30 and up per palette. Thanks much 🙏🏽🙋🏻‍♀️👍🏽

Do the metalics looks different on black watercolor? The bug may be attractive to the neon of the colors. That is what they see in many flowers....

There are a few variables but for me the key one is the amount of pigment in the paint. The higher the quality, the more pigment, meaning the colours will stay vibrant for longer and you use less when painting.
