Lol, I love the cat . Slow and steady wins the race. The one string at a time really helps very well. I did the vertical spiderwalk for a month it got my fingers strong and a lot of dexterity. But It did nothing for my ability to play all that much. The horizontal changed everything. Also, i learned kodachrome in E without the capo, so i could stay up by the headstock.The song is very good for going between chords and notes and back. It's pretty easy if you follow tomos videos, but it sounds harder than it is. OH, and for ear training, I'd play in the pitch black, and I would just hit a note on the low e and then try to match it throughout the neck. Then I'd double-check with a headstock tuner. I'm pretty sure it helped. Idk for sure because i did other things as well? But my tuner died a month ago. I just use a pitch pipe now. Never have to worry about the batteries dying.

Thank you for the many interesting lessons and information. Yesterday, for example, I really enjoyed the video on guitar setups "Do Your Own Setups: 8 Tools You Need" (You with StewMac) and the one on triads. I was able to utilize this information very well and correlate it with my acquired knowledge to get more confidence in getting neck angle, fret purity, etc. right myself. Here's a tip from me: with the Korg rack tuner Pitchblack X Pro you can set a more precise mode. This allows you to adjust the fret purity very nicely by comparing the fretted and harmonic tone in the 12th and 19th frets. I also listen to the sound, the rack tuner helps the ear to detect subtle differences more reliably. This works much more correctly than with the TC PolyTune that I used before. With the triads I tried to validated the fret purity. Thank you very much for the great inspiring videos and best regards from Germany.

Cool guitar - good advice - thank you Tomo! *I’ve play guitar for 50+ years - everything from country/electric blues, to rock n roll, country, bluegrass, folk blah blah blah - I heard all the music back in the day and just HAD to figure out how the hell to get those sounds - still trying 🤣 - Learned the old “haphazard guitar method” - wearing out records, stealing licks from friends, going to hear music and a few books (Mel Bays study of arpeggios and a Mel Bay study of chords) - I appreciate how your teaching brings the fundamentals (and beyond) together systematically and musically - the single string approach is eye and ear opening - stuff “I know” but don’t if you know what I mean - Thank you for your time and knowledge - but more so for your passion for music - even with your amazing technique your playing remains “accessible” - not that I can play as well but I can “hear” it - melody, rhythm, dynamics - not just a bunch of gnat notes - thank you again Tomo! Have a great day “It’s the notes you don’t play” - B.B. King “You don’t have to be the best one; just be a good ‘un” - Muddy Waters “Lightnin’ changes, when Lightnin’ wants to” - Lightning Hopkins (more my approach, unfortunately 🤣”) ☮️ “

You know what? I really love this channel. Every time i come here, it's like a light bulb goes on in my head. It's nearly every time.Why can i play most of the entirity of slashs part in the beginning of welcome to the jungle or riff raff? Because it's stationary or vertical. I put almost no work on playing horizontally. It's mainly pentatonic and mostly within the chord I'm playing vertically! I didn't pay any attention to the entire neck like i should have. And if something came too easy, i wouldn't practice it enough. DON'T BE A JESSE! I think i need someone to play with. I love playing along to songs, but what's the point if you're not sharing it with other ppl? Anyway, I don't want to over inflate this mans ego and turn him into a monster, lol. I'm constantly telling him how much he's helped me. When i can finally play all the things in my head, I'm going to owe a lot to him!

They don't know what they're missing. My first job out of high school was a slow store room job. I wasn't into playing cards like the other guys, I went off and gave sight reading a chance. I really think the Levitt exercises are a great warm up rather than noodling. I'm 66 and have been playing to some degree since I was 16 but only the last few years have been really doing the work- triads, etc- and finaly understanding what I'm actually playing and navigating the fretboard so much better. I think it only enhances my creativity and playing. It's too bad so many fall for the misconception about knowledge. " I only want to play like the Ramones, Lou Reed or Ted Nugent. Knowing too much will turn me into Barney Kessell" 🙄😂
@TomoFujitaMusic
@TomoFujitaMusic 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing, The Guitar Method Book. When you practice that book for 10-15 minutes. Very important not play anything not related to that book. This was you will learn how to be patient and respectful on only one topic. No licks, no nodding! That's why I decided to use this book to teach my Guitar Wisdom Subscribers because no one had this experience. So special to me. Son much fun to stay 2 pages duet for 2-3 weeks until you can play those notes so clean and no noises. This technique will make you a better player! I use Barney Kessell solo for testing these foundation techniques. There will never be another you! @@michaelmerrullo2043
