As far as visiting other resorts, you don't need a dining reservation, you can just let them know that you're collecting pressed Pennies and they'll let you in. I did it just in August while collecting the 50th Pressed Pennies and Medallions and all the guards at the gates let us in. It also gave us the opportunity to stop at all the resort gift shops to find things we couldn't find in the parks in the sizes we needed.

Take time to slow down. It’s vacation. Take in the scenery and enjoy. We run run run in life and then we run run run in Disney. Take a day or even an hour to just slow down. Your body and mind will thank you ☺️

We just got back - couple of things restaurant wise: Ohana - This was our only "Disappointing" reservation - the food just wasn't up to its usual awesomeness. Maybe just an off night. Steakhouse 71 - GO! It was delicious and more kid friendly than I expected it to be. Topolino's Terrace - If you're waffling between Chef Mickey's and this one, go to Topolino's Terrace at the Rivera. Reservations are hard to get, but the food was 10x better than Chef Mickey's and I think a touch cheaper. You only get Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy as characters, but the food (and the view) makes up for it. Space 200 - Another hard reservation, but the experience and food are worth the extra money you'll pay for it. Morimoto Asia - This was a fun restaurant and delicious. You'll have to leave your comfort zone for the menu a bit, but we enjoyed it.

Thanks for keeping me updated on how to do Walt Disney World. My first Disneyland visit was in 1972 and I made it to Walt Disney World in 1986. During those years it was quite possible to just show up at the gate, purchase a ticket, and have a fun time in about six hours. "Spontaneous" is no longer an option. Prior planning is a must. I'm surprised that there's no Disney app for reservations in the bathrooms--plan your potty stops six months in advance.

Plan for the rain. Not just packing rain gear, but knowing the outdoor rides will very likely close. Watch that weather and start moving to indoor venues (like the land in Epcot) before the rain actually hits. You'll be in a perfect position to get on the attractions sooner than later when all the other people come in after its started raining.

I laughed wayyyy too hard at Disney can make you turn on people 😂 - recalling the time my mom stomped away from us in Epcot because we insisted she, the pickiest one, choose which direction to walk into the WS for Flower & Garden food sampling 😂 AND recalling all the times as a cast member I witnessed the breakdown of a family member’s patience. You guys are really right on the getting up early bit. I am not a morning person it hurts to wake up early and previously as two adults we would just get to the parks when we got to the parks. Not super late but like 10 or 11. The last trip we tried to do rope drops several times to make sure we got on certain rods and I was really blown away how much more time we get in the parks it really feels like almost an additional day especially when you can hop on all those those rides so quickly. It totally changes the rest of your day because then you can be a lot more leisurely and enjoy more of the day. It hurts lol, but you got to do it to get the best experience!

Since joining DVC, we have been able to make each trip different from the trip before. Our first trip home was a stay at Jambo House with a day at Animal Kingdom. Our November trip will be a 2-night stay at the Polynesian and a day at Magic Kingdom followed by a birthday stay at Boardwalk in February and the After Hours event at Hollywood Studios. A far cry from the traditional 5-night 4-park days we used to take every other year before the pandemic.

I can't tell you how critical it was to take screenshots for your trip. We lost so many reservations including hotel and park reservations. We had 4 adults, 4 devices and often only one of our my Disney apps would show a reservation. Having 4 devices was a life saver for virtual ques and individual attraction rides! Grab your kid's kindles and whatever other devices you can use and use them for backups!

A 15th? Take out an account to TouringPlans a year before your trip. Time is money - and it will save you plenty of both. It's less than the cost of most Disney quick service lunches. I used it (before Covid and Genie+) to get a good idea of just how much I could accomplish in each park. Another tip - make hard copies of all your plans and carry them in your backpack / bag / fanny pack / etc.

I always stay off property as there are plenty of rental houses available. I can rent a house with a full kitchen and laundry room for less than the price of staying at a resort. By doing this I have to rent a car but IMO it's worth the annoyance of renting a car to be able to hit up a grocery store and buy food for the whole week for less than one dinner out with the whole family.

yep! scheduling is manger important in my family. we usually rope drop mk or hollywood on day one and then do a slower park like epcot for day 2. my dad is awesome at spotting when lines will be short. it was a trip for just me and him and we walked on to jungle cruise pirates 7 dwarfs and thunder mountain! it was great! my aunt however asked if we could do a combined trip… but we knew that wouldn’t work bc they have 3 under 2 which would totally slow us down!

I have one caveat to your suggestion about using the Riviera Skyliner Station depending on your location at Caribbean Beach. We made this mistake when staying there one morning and went to Riviera. I don't know if this is an "always" thing anymore, but at that time they weren't opening the Riviera station at the same time as Caribbean Beach. So we ending up having to walk ALL the way back around the entire resort to get to the other station. Be sure to check with a cast member before you head to the station just to be sure!

Went back after a few years recently... I plan disney trips in my free time, I love the history, the artistry, the experiences... but I feel like the magic is fading. That Disney difference is getting hard to find. The poor employees seemed under trained and understaffed. It's hard to maintain the happy disposition we expect when they're clearly not being treated as they should. The lightning lanes completely botched the line system. All but one ride we went on had mid ride stops. I feel like the greed in the management of disney world is overwhelming. Average people are being priced out. Most already are. It's really sad.

It is ridiculous that you pay so much and get even be guaranteed that you will be able to ride the ONE RIDE you come to Disney for. I think with the price you pay just for the tickets, Disney should guarantee every person 1 ride of the choice per ticket per day. After 40 years, I will never return to Disney just based on the loss of the Park Hopper option. The fact now that only deluxe hotel guests get to stay after dark unless you pay extra is bull. If you must stay, stay at a neighbor hotel, like at the hotel by Disney Springs with the bridge, its a great hotel with great same benefits such as they are and it is very nice. Is a shame that Disney is getting more designed for once in a lifetime trip for poor or middle class families or for higher income. Maybe that's why their having so many rude customers, more spoiled rich people

Chapek is an embarrassment to the Disney name and ought to be ousted. They are going down the tubes fast and losing a lot of Disney fans, including me, in the process. I was supposed to leave in a few days for a trip to WDW but canceled a few months ago because I have grown so fed up with them and their BS. They are pricing themselves right out of business and the morons who will still pay these prices are also to blame.
