The Dharawal people of south-west Sydney will remember a massacre 200 years ago that still causes debate and pain. It happened at a place called Appin on April 17 1816. Exactly what happened is still contested but at least a dozen Aboriginal men women and children were killed when a raiding party led by Captain James Wallis shot and drove people over a gorge. The killings raise questions of a crime and a cover up and implicate the man considered the father of Australia, Governor Lachlan Macquarie. NITV's Ryan Liddle tells the story.
