I think _"technocracy"_ is an appropriate word here. A small panel of supposedly unbiased experts appointed to make decisions with little democratic accountability. There are far too many institutions like this.

Any decent, impartial judge would've ruled the same!

I've been around for a bit (almost went to Vietnam) and like you two I am a researcher and chronicler on a very small scale of the previous chapter of the unelected State. I say previous with determination... This is an excellent report! Thank you for your commitment to the truth here because it is much needed. I only have one suggestion for the future. This nation is a constitutional democratic republic. It is a republic that has the needed influence of the democratic process, and the guiding doctrine - the one thing that even makes it possible besides the separation of powers - is the US Constitution. When referring to our democracy, please, use the terms democratic republic, constitutional republic, constitutional democracy, constitutional democratic republic. I think you catch my drift here. If that doctrine of the US Constitution ever gets sidelined, it will be the end of freedom as we know it. It seems to have gotten lost and perhaps even deemed old and no longer applicable. This perception is extremely short sighted and really uninformed. Bringing it back into the discussion and siting the merits of its parts and the whole directly linking these to whatever report you are doing will go a very long way to ensuring people understand at least in part how integral it is. It is after all, how we even got here in the good sense. The deep unelected state linked to corporatism is what it warns us against, and what Jefferson warned extensively about in his writings.
