A dose more than 2000mg does not help glycemic efficacy enough, but the gastrointestinal side effects increase drastically, there its better to give below 2000mg. All antidiabetic medictions decrease glucose, and I mentioned that if the blood glucose level is around 60mg/dl or below, its not advised to increase the dose of Metformin.
