A very brief history of what happened-- our 15 lb 10 year old neutered kitty boy was dx was diabetes about a year ago-- his blood sugar at the vet office was near 600, and he had been drinking and peeing excessively for a couple of weeks when we brought him in-- we managed to control the sugar with twice daily injections for about 8 months-- but after watching your video we started the high protein canned food only, and within a matter of days his blood sugar was consistently withing normal range-- a little over 100-- and we stopped using the insulin entirely. We continue to monitor occasionally, but so far, about 4 months later, normal sugar levels, no other symptoms. We owe you a great debt of gratitude.

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 3 yrs ago at 71. It made sense to me to lower my carb intake which I did and even went to following the keto diet keeping to about 20 to 30 carbs per day. Diabetes gone as well as 50 lbs! Am still going strong now for 3 years. So when my rescue cat of about 12 yrs old also was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago, I decided to have her eat similarly and since she was a cat and an obligate carnivore it made real sense. She has now been on a high protein canned cat food diet for a year and no diabetes! It is so good to hear of other's success whether cat or human of curing diabetes with diet. I have read of so many fellow humans with diabetes who have changed their diets especially with keto and have also succeeded to do this. Now our cats and dogs are included in the success too! I remember my vet telling me my cat Chewie he's borderline obese at 6yrs old. It was the dry food. 12 yrs later and he's now 18 , but recently diagnosed with Cushing's Disease. He's still going strong. He's been on insulin for a couple weeks now.

Fed mine only canned low carb or cooked meat for him, he never got regulated even with the insulin, his range would vary from 300 all the way up to 400. He died of ketones after being diabetic for 4 months at age of 12 years old, had to put him to sleep, very sad day. Some never regulated, just like people some things don't work for everyone, for those this works for that is awesome news!!

I also got my cat 15 yr Leo off insulin. He just started last Oct. but in April finally went into remission. I’m super happy since he would be sick from it. Now he’s more energetic & happy.

Doc, the Lord lead me to find these two videos of yours with Murray. My female cat Sam who’s 11 years old was diagnosed this past April with diabetes. They prescribed exactly what Murray was taking and had me put her on royal canines glycemic kibble. Something in me did not want to give her the insulin. So I just kept her on the new food. About three days ago she wasn’t doing too well so I decided fine, I’m going to have to get her the insulin. I ended up finding these videos and took your advice and immediately started giving her white albacore tuna as it was all I had at the moment. I’ve been giving her the tuna for the last three days and she stopped drinking excessive amounts of water and isn’t urinating in excess! I also bought the nettle leaf tea and will be buying your supplement. My goodness Doc, the Lord truly put you in my path to help Sam. He never ceases to amaze me!! Amen! My daughter took our middle age neutered male cat in for a physical on March 1st. They drew blood for routine blood work. His only issue--he was having a BM near the litter box a few times per week. No big deal as it was on a tile floor. The vet called me with the bloodwork results on March 4th. His blood sugar was 457. I found this video and began Dr. Jones protocol at 5pm on March 5th. (I took his dry food away and started giving him only canned Firstmate cat food) I took him to the vet yesterday, March 11th. His blood sugar about a half an hour after eating was 192. The vet instructed me to continue what we are doing and to add two tablespoons of dry food per day. I am using the sample of Firstmate indoor food sample that I was given at the pet store. I will take him back to the vet in a week for a recheck. I hope to avoid having to put him on insulin,...........fingers crossed.

Everything has cost us so much and the food requires a prescription that could only be order online or buy at the clinic. The food is expensive online and almost double at the clinic. I’m going to try this, but I wanted to know how long before I take Mellow of the insulin and when to have him test?

I had suspicion that our 9.5 year old cat was diabetic as she was drinking and peeing excessively, the kitty litter was super sticky like concrete and occasionally she was peeing outside of the littler box. We were going thru 82 pounds of litter a week, so I knew something was definitely wrong and I suspected diabetes. We brought her to the vets and they did blood work and said indeed she was diabetic as her levels were over 400. She also had a UTI, which apparently is typical as diabetic cats are more susceptible to infection. The vet started her on insulin, but I felt we were getting the run around as she had us use the Libre3 device several times and still couldn't get her numbers where they should be. Each time we used it, the device was $80 and the visit to have them put it on her and monitor her was $80 for two weeks. So our initial visit was nearly $400 and add another $600 on top of that for the 4 times we had the Libre3 device put on her to be "monitored" even though I was the only one doing the monitoring. I got a little tired after over 3 months of this and the vet still not getting her number correct because she dragged her feet until the Libre3 devise expired and she kept expecting us to keep doing it over and over. I was tired of draining on bank account so I started to look up ways to stop or prevent diabetes altogether. Amazingly, I came across this video and decided that this will be the last time we have Libre3 device put on her since we weren't getting any closer to getting her numbers lowered. So the day we had the Libre3 device put on her for the 4th time, I completely stopped giving her dry food all together. We have 4 cats and I wasn't sure I could do it, but it turned out to be pretty easy. We put the dry food in one of our bedrooms and shut the door. The three cats that can eat the dry food would let us know when they were hungry and we'd let them in and then they would alert us when they were finished. We also started giving them some wet food daily as well. The diabetic cat (starting that day) was only given wet food. I broke it down to 4 times a day for her. She only gets 1/2 3oz cans 4 times a day. Immediately, her numbers on the Libre3 device (that very same day) plummeted from 401 to the 40's and 50's and so now they were critically low and it got to the point where the vet had to have me skip doses and some days she didn't get any insulin and then several days passed and I still couldn't give her any since her numbers were so low. The vet was still determined to keep her on insulin. However, after 2 weeks with the Libre3 device and her number being as low as 60 to no higher 75, the fact that she was drinking and peeing normally and no longer having accidents outside of the litter box, I decided that she no longer has diabetes and that I will no longer be giving her insulin. With all this, the vet told me she still wasn't convinced she was in remission and that I should consider keeping the insulin I had and check her again down the road. Well, I got rid of the insulin and will no longer be using that veterinarian and thanks to this video, she is on the road to being a healthy diabetic free cat! Thank you Dr. Jones!!!

Awesome stuff, our cat is currently getting 2 shits a day. A couple weeks into her diagnosis we pulled the kibble from her diet and started noticing her glucose number being much lower so we adjusted her insulin to ½ unit twice a day but i now have hope we can get her off the insulin. For new diabetic cat owners, if you can afford it put a freestyle libre on them, especially in the beginning it will let you learn the cats glucose patterns since all you do is scan the device. It helped us immensely because we couldn't get blood from our cat.

I just checked his BS and it was very high, but it's impossible to get a true curve as he never lets me do it more than once every few weeks. What brand of glucometer did you use? I have learned that you need one specifically calibrated for cats for an accurate reading. Eg Alphatrak 2 or 3.

Hello. I checked that Firstmate chicken formula ingredient list and while it is grain free it still has potato in it. Isn't that a carb? I would think the less carbs the better for a recuperating diabetic cat. Or does it not make a difference? Thanks for your input.

I'm curious which brand of meter you're using there. I found testing the most costly element of diabetic management using the meter, lances and strips (at $2 a pop) the vet sold me. I've since switched to a non-veterinary brand of strips (only $0.75 a pop) and a human insulin as well as a pure raw (supplemented) diet but he still needs a small dose to be in the normal range.

My cat Green on insulin since 1 year and couldn't go to remission yet, I feed her with Fancy feast but I will try First Mate soon to see if it will be better for her. I have very very important question for you, I hope you can answer. So far 1 veterinery suggested that I have to prick blood from her twice a day before give insulin shot and if I don't do it, this would be very dangerous for her. And another 2 vets told me this is not necessary and not good for her either so I should do curves ones a while and this will be enough. They said she wouldn't crush with insulin when I inject it while she is eating. I am very very confused and stress which one is reality, I don't want something happens to her.
