They really have to do something with Sorc you shouldn’t need a unique in every slot to somewhat function

It's refreshing going back to D3 and every class has items you're excited to see drop and when you equip them, boom you instantly feel the effect of gasp, doing way more damage and being able to jump up several levels. It's like they're too afraid of D3s damage inflation but ONLY for specific classes...

I kind of wish they would change the item but keep the idea to a certain degree. Instead of a staff, change it to a Source, maybe the new Triumverant. And instead of it being attached to a core skill, just make it work so that when you cast either Firebolt, Spark or Frost Bolt, you also cast the other two. Just becomes a triple basic attack thing. Doesn't even have to boost the damage; you get that from the synergies with other items, like that new sword.

Yes, stagger needs a design overhaul. Its not even part of the equation when the boss lives for over 2 minutes, up to 10 minutes and above.

Did anyone test whether the staff allows basic attack aspects to work? I saw might worked. Critically, does hectic work? Does it count as two casts, so every 10 casts we can get 4 seconds off CDs?

Honestly it's always been obvious for a while that they kinda don't really know how to properly handle sorc. I mean in the first few seasons the design philosophy for sorc seemed to be Newton's third law, where most legendary aspects and uniques somehow need to have a buff AND a curse.

They need to stop giving sorcs unique 2h weapons only reason they work with barb and rogues is the extra weapon slots lol

Do we know if the basic skills from the staff lucky hit? Perhaps with the high attack speed (especially if the staff core AS stat is in cap 2) and considering the high baseline basic attack lucky hit, the staff is about proccing lots of lucky hits? A frost core skill, blue rose lucky hit build? A greater fireball, frost bolt enchant, firebolt build with blue rose? A lot of copium here… a lot… the staff needs a buff.

Does Paingorgers really only replicate the first hit? I have the impression that (since mid season patch?) it replicates all attacks within the 3s uptime of the mark 🤔

Looks like the only thing of worth for this item would be the transmog upon salvaging, if it has one.

It needs a complete redesign to cast 2 other core skills of different elements whenever you cast a core skill.

I haven't even watched the video yet but I'm just going to assume that the people who design this game once again have forgotten to take into account that you can't temper extra projectile procs on a unique

I really hope they get on top of unique items next. Loot 2.0 was a major step forward, but they seem so afraid to actually make useful uniques. I can't believe it's not possible to make items that do different things and make builds change in interesting ways, without rendering all other items useless. If they wanted to, they could just make a debuff for every extra unique you add, so you're still forced to use legendaries, in case the uniques are too strong.

its a future barb item , it will work perfect for that class - additional basic skill will trigger 5 different multipliers + gushing wounds allowing barb to release a toxic fart one shooting sorc's 2 screens away. Blizz's balance and logic.

They honestly need to cut the stagger resistance that bosses get after staggering them 3x

I tested this staff night 1 of the PTR, and man it's terrible. Ignoring that any unique staff will need to be WAY better than anything we can temper now, after the S4 additions, the staff itself doesn't trigger from all Core skills. Any Core skill that is also a DoT will NOT trigger this staff (I reported it as a possible bug, but maybe this is Blizz's intentions, who knows?). I was trying to maybe synergize it with the new Fire Bolt split power, and Firewall/Incinerate, and it just doesn't trigger the staff. It's a very disappointing item all around, and that coupled with the CL pants also not being great, is making me a very sad Sorc main. The class needs so much work.

As others are saying, it's not surpricing that the Sorc unique is bad and undertuned. It's the same story with the whole class. Blizzard seemingly doesn't have anyone who plays Sorc or at least anyone who understands what makes the class work. The nerf to Teleport and removing CDR from off-hands were a clear sign of this. Just wait and see as a knee-jerk reaction they will just do number changes to Sorc skills without adressing the real problems which are Paragon, Enhancements and end passives. Also the teleport nerf just makes the class more clunky.

Teleport nerfed, focus nerfed, flame shield nerfed, ice armor nerfed, Debilitatin Roar nerfed, Shadowblight nerfed, Victimize nerfed, etc Meanwhile, Barb holding one button to auto-attack with Bash or WW... Yeah, this game is perfectly (un)balanced. They will nerf everything to the ground outside the Gushing Wounds. And Barb will get a 50% Polearms buff, longer bleed, Shard of Verathiel, and Perma Berserking Aspect. LMAO. Step 1: Druid, Necro, and Sorc should be able to wear 2H + 2x1H like Rogue to get two more Aspects, two more Gems, two more offensive stats, and four more Tempers.

Paingorger is a useless item. Most of the multipliers dont work on the damage it splits. For example you hit for 2M, paingorger does 200K

why would you play Frost Bolt directly, when Frozen Orb would give 2x Frost Bolts + FO + 30% attack speed??

I swear. Blizzard will never ever in a million years be able to balance this game in regards to adding new content as long as they have god damned multipliers for everything. There is no system to it and the calculations are bugged, poorly thought through and just in general, wild. How on earth are they going to make something balanced when even a [x]500% multiplier is not enough to create an out of control build(Looking at incinerate tripple beam). Like how is quintupling your damage still bad? Well ill fakken tell ya, its because of all the other multipliers sorc doesnt have compared to say barb. They have no double dipping to multiply their multipliers. Its just a mess honestly. They need to hire some mathmaticans to create proper damage calcuation formulas for them. Programmers are good at math, but not good enough to create something that is balanced from the getgo and have a strategy for how its going to work in the future with new addtions etc. OR They need to get rid of all multipliers on sources that have differen magnitudes between classes. Weapons are one of them, having multipliers on weapons is clearly never going to create a game where Barbarians, who can have upto 4x the amount of stats from weapons than other classes, aren't the best scaling class. They need to remove all kinds of weapon aspect multipliers, tempers, crit damage, vuln damage. All of that shit from weapons. Or they need to make it so that the stats/aspects only apply from the weapon being used. Not all of them at once. E.g if you cast HotA you only benefit from stats and aspects from your 2h blunt weapon. Its just so sad watching them trying to create fun new uniques and aspects only for them to go completly untouched because its hot garbage compared to other bugged ass shit or abilities that have a bunch of multipliers you can jam onto them.

TL,DR: There are no devs play the game with sorc, hence sorc is all hot garbage

No offense but why is he trying to do a basica attack build with this? Thats not what its for. Its literally just to make ur core skills have supplementary damage. Just casting basic attacks does nothing with this wep. Try casting frost orb etc instead like its intended.
