In my case just a dead battery thankfully, but requires a bit more thought, since it is one of two on a 24V system where it is two 12V batteries in series. In this case, if one battery goes bad, it can interrupt the whole system. Conversely, my pickup truck has a 12V system with 2 12-volt batteries in parallel. If one goes bad, it doesn't stop the other from working, just the overall amperage to the starter is less. When in series like the excavator, one dead cell breaks the whole system. So like in this case, you can have one good battery and one bad one, and still get no response at all.
So, now Rosey is going again, and poor old Wilbur is left with 2 totally dead batteries. Poor Wilbur...!
