Thanks for making this video brother. You are truly helping the BMW community. These were the exact symptoms my M3 started having. I had coded out the TPMS and removed the module, but just left the cable hanging in the rear wheel well. Sure enough, after watching your video, I checked out that cable connector and it had brown marks from shorting out. Wrapped it up now and so far so good!

Thanks so much for the video. It is a great help. I had same exact issues on 11 X5 E70. I changed the RDC module and all issues gone away except TPMS Malfunction. Now, I just have to find a way for coding/ programming this new RDC module.

I have the same car and same issues. Was it really as simple to fix as this video shows? Where is the RDC located on the X5?

@@nickstegner5310 yes it was simple fix. Only thing the module has to be registered/coded after replacement. Otherwise, you will still have tpms malfunction warning light. The module is located behind the exhaust tank on X5 E70. . You need to go under the car from rear driver side tire. I have the picture but I am not able to post it here, don’t know why.

Thanks for this video. My 328i started having the same electronic fault warnings start popping up about 5 minutes after driving lately along with more 'increased battery discharge' messages. Immediate thoughts were obviously battery or alternator issue. My TPMS system died several years ago but after the $800+ price tag to repair it then I just learned to live without it. Over time I suppose the unit continued to degrade and started sucking battery life. Unplugged it a few days ago and the warnings immediately stopped.

bro , my e90 have maybe same problem .when i driving in dashboard coming shis 3 lights , after if i dont turn off car , in dashboard comming new check (battery) and after car turning ingnition itself. when i trying turn on car its going like a battery is dead, but my battery is new 2 days ago i have buyed . i using battery jumper and car starting normal, after 1 day its coming again . what is a problem ? how you fix it ?

@@elbakaayou have to register the battery with a scanner. Also maybe your Voltage Regulator or alternator.

I just saw your video and I'm dealing with the same thing right now. Car is actually at the shop. I had to have it towed because then it had no crank no start. Started doing the same thing right after a storm and I had warmed the car up prior to going anywhere and moved it to shovel. No issues till I was pulling out of the driveway. The cluster went dead basically then came back. Shut the car off and restarted and everything was fine except the tpms was inactive.

I’d like to take more credit, but it would have taken me a week to find the issue on my 2011 x5. Your chronology of symptoms matched mine exactly. I figured, what are the chances of that!? New RDC and issue fixed! Thanks. If you were local to the UP, I’d buy you a beer.

Subbed. My n51 has been throwing airbag codes at random times and MPG cluster fluctuates when cold and also alternator constantly whines on startups ,( new one installed ) going to try this as soon as I figure out the location ( 2008 n51 328i ). 👍🏼

Worth checking out. Also would be good to get a scanner that can read BMW specific codes by module. Would give you an idea which system the issues are originating from

You saved me sooo much time. I was getting ready to pull out the dash🤦‍♂️. Im working on repairing my tps circuit board right now. The circuit board has one badly corroded connector. So I soldered in a wire to complete the circuit. Will test it out tomorrow. Bmw did a poor job with sealing these units. My guess is that many heat cycles causes the glue to crack over time which ends up allowing water in.

Glad it helped! When I took mine apart it was still sealed well but looked like water had seeped in around the pins for the electrical connection. Definitely needed better sealing, or maybe just located in a place less exposed to water

A bad RDC module will cause the U112B error code. To confirm just diconnect the existing cable. You will have a TPMS Inactive error but should no longer have your dash going crazy. You can replace (no programming needed) with the matching used module $100. Verify the software rev version # the the right of BMW on the top of the module. Thesee modules are a built service $$$ profit center for BMW. If you cut open the module you will find corrosion like in a leaking battery at the front of the cicuit board near the connector. The casing joint either leaks or there is lots of condensation in the module. BMW diid years of research trying to find the worst spot to mount these modules. "Underneath and behind a tire ? " "Sounds perferct. "

hey guys . please if someon know issue help me 😢... In hot weather, when I drive on the road, these 3 sensors suddenly light up, then turn off, after 2 minutes, they light up again, if I don't stop the car and turn off the engine, the steering wheel hardens, then the battery lights up and turns off the car by itself. When I want to turn it on, the car does not start, as if the battery is dead. I remove the minus cable and connect it back again, then I start the car with the battery charger, I changed the battery but after 2 days the same problem happened to me. What could be the fault?

Me too I went to a carwash today and start having that issue my gauges goes like crazy and a lot of lights on but I'm available keep driving it and after a while it keeps doing the same so I will try to leave it and see if goes away during the night @@kaminmartinez8707

hello i wanted to know if there's a app for the MHD that you put on the tablet, so that you can get the dongle to link up to or program that you needed to load for the TPMS system?

I use an android tablet with the MHD WiFi adapter and ProTools software to do my diagnostics / coding. I used to to code the new TPMS module, check out my other video on it

What did you have to do for coding? I somewhat have the same problem. Mine is just telling me it’s inactive and happened after I went to the mountains.

Check out the video I released a week after this one. I use the bimmergeeks ProTool software - it can do the coding and can also tell you the exact error codes your TPMS module is throwing

I have the abs, brake, an traction light (yellow) and at times in and out the seat belt light AND TPMS light (orange). I can’t figure out what the issue is after troubleshooting ABS pump, module, wheel sensors. Not throwing any codes. Any ideas?

Make sure the battery is still good first. Try unplugging the RDC module like I did and see if it clears anything up. Yours might be located in a different location depending on the year. If you’re still having issues get a good scan tool that can read the individual modules of the car (I use bimmergeeks pro tool). When my car had the problem it showed errors across multiple modules but it was pretty obvious it originated from the RDC

Could you give some description on how to remove the RDC module? I saw the module and disconnected the line, but wasn't sure the correct way to take out the module. Don't want to force it and break anything. Thank you!

The module is held in by a small u-shaped plastic bracket. If you just wiggle the module and pull toward the outside of the car it comes out very easily, the chances of breaking anything are pretty low.

@@lifebycars5849 , Thank you! I want to give a quick update in case it will help other owners. On my 2011 328i xDrive, to remove the module, you first push down the head side (connector), get it out of the bracket and then slide it out with a little bit angle downside. I also opened the module using a knife to cut open the glued top. The 4 pins on the PCB are pretty rusted and one comes loose. Have cleaned it up and will try to solder it back once I have the tool arrive.

I just called BMW dealership and got a quote to R & R the RDC Module. The cost for the part is $414 and labor is $564.... Wow... If I unplug this RDC Module, will I still have intermittent lights on the dash? Right now, the TPC error code light flashes intermittently and not not consistently.

If the RDC module is causing problems and you unplug it those problems should go away. The only error that would be left would be the TPMS inactive since the module is unplugged. That can also be coded out and have FTM instead

@@lifebycars5849 to code it out, I need a scanner? I just ordered one. my car was working good and then didn't drive it for a month and the battery drained and wouldn't start. So I jump started it and a bunch of lights came on and it won't shift into any gear. Is it because of low battery? It says: Charging malfunction Driving stability Trans Malfunction DBC malfunction Everything was working. Is it the battery? A month ago I saw that it barely started. Then today it didn't start until I jump started it then all the lights came one. I just ordered a BMW Scanner and a CTEK MXS 5.0 battery charger.

@@lifebycars5849 I’m having the same problem, Trans light, ABS, tire pressure and a bunch of others… I replaced alternator and voltage regulator as well as the battery and coded it. So I’m thinking it is the RDC module

Something on your CAN line is disrupting the signal. In my case it was the RDC like I showed. If you have a scan tool that can read all the modules it should give you an idea where it’s originating from

Nope, my steering is hydraulic so no issues with it. I know the E9X came with electric steering on other regions like the UK so guessing that’s what you’re dealing with if you have an electrical system issue

In my case I wanted to limit driving as much as possible because I didn’t have full use of turn signals and whatnot. However I wouldn’t have caused any further damage, just needed to replace my TPMS/RDC module

There are different systems depending on the year of your E9X. My LCI 2013 has the RDC module behind the rear passenger wheel liner but for the earlier cars I believe it was somewhere in the trunk

Yup, had those errors as well. Cleared up after I unplugged the module. Can also try to turn the wheel from lock to lock that might clear them as well
