My sister has schizophrenia. She has the weight gain, diabetes etc. She is in therapy. She is over 60 and was diagnosed in her late 20's/early 30's. Is there a better medication to help with the weight and diabetes or is it too late? Thank you for your brilliant lecture!

Refering to 21:20: I think in brief psychotic dis. only one symptom is necessary for diagnosis and not two.

You're right! I apologize for my error. According to the DSM 5TR presence of one (or more) of the following symptoms is required: 1. Delusions. 2. Hallucinations. 3. Disorganized speech (e.g., frequent derailment or incoherence). 4. Grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior. The key here is really the duration though or the "brief-ness" of it- more than 1 day, but less than 1 month.

So sorry about that. If you go to the gear icon on the video, you can adjust the playback speed. "0.75" might make the pace sound a bit slower.
