She was bullied for having class. No turnoff. Class is priceless. Its not about being better than others, but being the best YOU that you can be. It doesn't put others down and should inspire others to have standards. However, it may show others exactly what they are not.

Black women having class always triggers the majority for some strange reason. Though I wasn’t a diahann Carrol I was the very reserved, quiet, pretty type in school. Secretly I was very creative and down to earth but because I was an introvert not too many ppl knew. Being petite, and quiet but always put together I had my fair share of Girls trying to bully me. Though I was quiet I always stood up for my self when I had to out of defense. Even as an adult it’s the same ol same ol. Women at Jobs, neighbors..etc..there is always some woman trying to try me. Last year I had to file harassment charges for a neighbor who started harassing me when I didn’t want to befriend her. Though I was nice to the woman and friendly, she took it as an insult that I didn’t want to be friend her and started ringing my door bell all times of night, doing menacing things to get my attention n when that wouldn’t work she started making ridiculous complaints to the property manager that I was talking too loud, my heels were too loud coming up the steps, just nonsense. As soon as I filed the charges she cut all of it out. Classy and seemingly confident women tends to trigger the insecurity in others. Men included.

When I started dating in my late teens and early 20's, some African American guys would accuse me of "acting like a white girl." I was so hurt that I would cry when I returned home. I was just being myself. My parents, especially my mother raised and trained me to be a graceful, and elegant young lady.

I am a 65 year old (white)woman who decided that after seeing the TV series "Julia", that I wanted to become Julia when I grew up. I saw her as a role model. That was not the 1960's climate but she was so gracious, I could not stand it!!! I HAD to have what she had. I became a nurse because of Diahnn Carroll. All those mean people were just JEALOUS of her.

Some women are just jealous. They are insecure with themselves and they feel that they must pull you down to their level. Unfortunately they push you to that level.

I love elegant women and I love her. I’ve experienced bullying as a child and as an adult for being boujie. I’ve been accused of wanting to be white. I have just always admired elegant black women and have modeled myself after them. She was truly a class act

Diahann is FOREVER THAT GIRL ok! She was breathtaking and the epitome of grace, class and opulence. She was the blueprint for bougie Black women and I’m grateful for her for walking so we could run. She let the world know that Black girls deserve glamour and luxury 🖤✨

I remember being a young white girl, playing with Barbies. I used to watch that Diane Carol Show. I thought she was the prettiest. From then on, I had to have the black Barbie dolls before anybody else got a chance to pick. 😆🤦🏻‍♀️

Ladies continue developing yourself/ levelling up/ maintaining yourself. Ppl (all races/ ethnic groups even our own) are always trying to tell/ moderate how blck women should conduct themselves. Tell me where another race of women have been told not to be elegant? Excellent commentary as always

I’ve gotten bullied for being too reserved. People try to bring me down to their level, but I’ve always been a grounded person and don’t think I’m better than anyone. I guess as a Black woman, people think you aren’t supposed to be classy, reserved or elegant. They expect loud and unfiltered, and when you aren’t being that way, they don’t like it.
