It did sound like the DI was clipping. I know Joey Sturgis will do that sometimes too so worth a shot to try that maybe?

@@skylarwanke5310 You can try to put soft clipping plugin preferably one that can have harder clipping too. That way you can keep clean DI.

Use a Tube mic/line preamp

You are sure the pedal is engaged and you have enough gain and volume? Also make sure to double rhythm tracks, route them on stereo bus and set it in the plugin on stereo, like andy james did. much better sound. When its lead then mono to stereo on a stereo bus

I just see that the guitar tracks are still routed to a bus track, there are 6 more active plugins in the slot, including a multiband compressor and an equalizer. So this horny sound is a little deception if you don't show all the settings.

Anything is possible if you don't use presets

There definitely seems to be some subtle saturation coming from the DI sound. I wonder if he runs his DI’s through a limiter. Also I’m sure the DI’s are tightly edited

@@exdev lol you hear the plugin in the mix and andy james made a track too. There is also a free trial. I have it already and it for me it sounds very good (i have the howard benson version). And i have th-u, bias fx 2, gr5,...

@@adalbertusignatius4967 most of the VSTs I own came with a trial/demo, the ones that didn't come unfortunately were just the worst ones, regarding this plugin I was eager to try it but there is no demo and its webpage FAQ says that there will not be a demo, so not sure what are you talking

@@exdev oh yes, its the will putney plugin. Try the howard benson plugin for free. I use it since 8 days for free and i still have 2 days. I expect that this is similar to it.
