Having the opportunity to exercise faith when the purpose and reward are not apparent are greater yet! Eternal life is the greatest and worth every sacrifice! Your faith is your foundation (well, on the foundations of Christ, and of apostles and prophets). IF living the Word of Wisdom always, automatically produced obvious, distinct, commensurate results in health and longevity-if living any major area of the gospel resulted in mortal, temporally obvious blessings-it wouldn't take long (maybe just a few short years, I think definitely under 20) before the world caught on and +faith+ would no longer be required to pass our mortal testing/probation. Think about this, please, if you haven't. I've thought about it repeatedly, for years. People would learn to choose the gospel for apparent temporal blessings and no longer for actual spiritual desire and choice. The more I ponder the apparent confused, conflicting and contradicting conditions in the world-including confusing outcomes in the lives of faithful latter-day saints-the clearer to me that God could not have set or be better, more wisely/perfectly guiding our mortal conditions for our +true, FAIR+ testing so that, literally for those who find and choose faith, we will be able and prepared to bear/withstand the divine blessings (including knowledge and power) to come! No way can God let whoever simply asks His favor and blessings have it, but only those who latch onto Jesus and follow the ordained laws and ordinances of the gospel. Satan, wicked persons, deceivers and liars all have asked God for blessings...if He made them wider open and easier to obtain, Satan and/or wicked followers would enter heaven as thieves and pirates and spoil, ruin and overtake it. God's perfection and justice require laws and requirements, and separations between righteous and wicked, faithful and unfaithful, and in/by degrees thereof...exactly and all elements of the great plan of happiness and salvation as taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! If you've departed or are straying or are having doubts, please, feel my testimony, get on your knees in prayer and come back, or carry Onwardup!

You always hear about how the Heavenly Father blessed people with an overwhelming feeling of peace. I had never felt that before. Never. I came to a time in my life where I was so broken I gave everything to God. I let myself cry and told him all my hurts and completely surrendered. That was the first time I had Ever felt that overwhelming peace. I went from agony to thinking of all things I was grateful for and this feeling of peace washed over me. I never felt anything like it before. It was perfect, complete, and a gift. Anytime Im struggling I think of that feeling of peace and try to remember that it will all be ok. I think back through my life and through every trial I see God's hand, he has never left me alone. Even when I was in a very dark place he was there, I couldn't feel him, but he was there. Love you guys. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you. Hold fast, we are in this together, how wonderful that we get to feel all the emotions this life offers us. God Bless you. 💕

Thank you for your honest, open testimony, Cindy Lou. I too have similarly felt God's love. He lets us struggle but He is always there! He lets us make bad choices but, as long as we're alive, we can return and recover; and at least similar, up to the same, after this life but before final judgment...always the maximum mercy available; justice paid in full by our Savior.

"Shine His light when He needed you the most. " I like this lyric because it reminds me to not be scared or timid when I feel I am not strong enough to shine. (I'm not "just" a diamond in the rough, but I AM a diamond in the rough world. I am His and I will shine for Him when He needs me to.)

It's true, the name of Jesus Christ is very important, and we use His name in many songs we write. We just don't say Jesus or Jesus Christ in uptempo songs because it's not appropriate for the setting. But we do talk about the Savior in this song extensively, and it's focused around him, and how he molds us and turns us into diamonds.

Would love to have a more reverent version. Use these for my zoom religion classes and although the song is great, has a beat you can dance to, it just isn't appropriate format for devotional. So many I would love to use because the messages are amazing, but sadly can't. So if you can think about creating two versions that would be amazing.
