I think that's my next step. I put a kettle bell on, but the instructions don't really call for compression. I got it tighter since the video though. Go for it.

@@MarineX As per instructions: "Adjust the lock rods" - Marker 13 - see exclamation point below diagram read: "For best weather protection, have a second person press down on the cover while you adjust the lock rods." I used two little giant ladders and laid them on top, but a few kettle bells would work. The weather stripping takes a few days to compress to where smooth operation of the locking rods takes place without having to push down much on the cover.

It is a great cover. I followed the instructions on the struts, but they do seem weird.

@@MarineX I just installed mine on 12/02/2020 and the instructions I got at marker 17 state: "Attach a gas spring - barrel up, shaft down - to each of the pairs of ball studs on the cab panel." Picture shows skinny end down. Slick looking cover though. I got the HD with the diamond grip pattern and absolutely loving it.

Actually, three of the four struts are installed correctly. It’s the driver side front strut that is upside down. Hope this helps 😉

Thanks brother. From my understanding it will drop easily. DB purposely leaves a small gap between the tailgate and the cover. You seal that gap with provided weather stripping. But the tailgate works seamlessly.

If you're not putting a lot of weight on top or don't intend to stand in the unit to use binoculars or similar, an SE should be fine. The gas struts have been working fine

Very easily. I usually use a broom stick as a helper to hold the panel as I remove reach gas strut. Each panel is around 50 pounds and can be moved easily

@@MarineX that really sucks haha I'm PCSing from Korea to Alaska and taking leave enroute...I kinda need something for the drive from Alabama to Alaska. Definitely not buying two different covers.

@@MarineX They had an express shipping option, so I pulled the trigger and got it! It took a lot of research and going back and forth, but I will get the rails later to install a roof rack tent later :)

No. Sometimes the car gets a few drips in but nothing else. I'll do another review soon.

Naw they are good. They've been for 60k miles. Plus I've had two front and rear Axle services, plus changed out my ball joints and rods. No mention from me or any mechanic. But I'll ask when I go for a differential service.
