Going on a tour of “Diamonds Are Forever” locations found in Las Vegas and Amsterdam.
The locations visited on this tour are:
1) The "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign, not seen in the movie but hey, had to include it.
2) The Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary and Cemetary which plays the exterior of Slumber Mortuary, where James Bond and the gangsters drive up.
3) The Skinny Bridge in Amsterdam, which is seen on the river tour when the tourists witness Mrs.Whister's body being fished out of the Amstel.
4) The exterior of Tiffany Case's Amsterdam apartment.
5) The Palm Downtown Mortuary and Cemetary in North Las Vegas, which plays the Garden of Remembrance where James Bond falls into a trap set by Mr.Kidd and Mr.Wint.
6) The Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino, which was formerly the International Hotel and played the exterior of the "Whyte House" Hotel and Casino, SPECTRE's headquarters.
7) The PABCO Gypsum Plant on the outskirts of Las Vegas, which plays SPECTRE's Techtronics Missile Laboratories.
8) The desert along Highway 147, where the Moon Buggy chase takes place.
9) Freemont Street, which is now closed off to traffic, and was the site of the car chase.

Was 13 years old when we were in Las Vegas in 1970 when they actually filmed 💎 Diamonds. We were actually standing in back of the cameras at Circus Circus when Tanya the 🐘 elephant pulls the big slot machine. What a thrill to have been actually been there to see it film in person.

Thanks for that. Years ago my sons and I lived in Henderson for several years and we used to "Bond", many nights watching all the films. Never realized the funeral home was in Henderson so close to our home. "Bitten by the Bug" was said so many times by my boys it drove me crazy but I sure miss our "male Bonding time now."

The International hotel was open earlier than 1971. When Kerkorian owned it Elvis was headlining there in 1968-1970 when I went to high school then.

It was a race between Howard Hughes owner of the Landmark, and Kerkorian owner of the International of who would open first on January 1st 1969.....

Good work, very interesting. Never knew the taller W.W. building was a matte, good SFX for the time. Shame it's all changed, seems over commercialised now, but that's the price of progress. Greetings from the U.K. !

In 1984 I stayed at the Landmark Hotel which was later demolished. There is a brief shot of this tower in the background when Tiffany is at the gas station. I believe exteriors of the Landmark Hotel were used when Bond rode the exterior elevator to the top of ‘The Whyte House’ and the roof top sequence. They used footage of the Landmark being demolished in Tim Burton’s film ‘Mars Attacks’.

I couldn't believe that the skyscraper at the back of the Whyte House was a digital add in when I found out about it. The effect is really good and holds up pretty well.

3:30: The Amsterdam scenes were last to be filmed, in September 1971, just three months before this movie was released. 7:38: Critics round on DAF for shoddy effects ( its "explosions"), but The Whyte House matte is excellent!

Its a shame your friend didn't go in the 3rd floor apartment of Tiffany Case in Amsterdam - apparently the interiors were shot there and I thought it was all shot in Pinewood Studios.

This one of favourite Bond movies I was surprised to see Sid Haig in this movie he's also famous for the devils rejects, 3 from hell and house of a 1,000 corpses he was the thug in the hearse that said I had a brother once and bond replied small world the 68 caddy hearse looked really cool miller-meteore if im correct the mustang mach 1 looked awesome too
