Welcome to a special, meaningful unboxing of a recent new release from Diamond Art Club in honor of Autism Awareness/Acceptance Month. This is the beautiful "It's Okay To Be Different" diamond painting kit, which is just making my heart feel so very full. Neurodiversity is something I and my family know well, and this artwork is a beautiful way to get to honor that. Hi Katie, good morning from Los Angeles County. Love the canvas. I was in Elementary school when teachers started noticing my weird behavior. Like walking around the classroom singing to myself. Losing track of the teacher. Not doing my in class assignments. I told one teacher that the tiny holes on the ceiling were Galaxies. She spanked me and sent me to the principal office. Add Delexia to my mess. The spelling area of my brain is not up and running. I had a hard time keeping a job. I got addicted to Opioids. It wasn't until I was 48 years old was I diagnosed with severe ADHD. For years I kept telling everyone there was something bad wrong with me.

You have been through so much. I am glad you finally got answers and I hope those answers came with some relief. You are not bad. You were trying to survive in a world that you felt different in. Your differences should have been guided and celebrated. I hope you are doing well now ❤ 😊

This video touched me deeply. I had and asked for classrooms for students with autism and worked with our district to pilot a program for students on the autism spectrum who were high functioning. ABA therapy was something I was highly interested in and I worked directly with many therapists to better help our kids and families to get our kids what they needed. I now need this canvas. I think I will get it and do it for our incredible teachers and their classroom. They were angels!

Partials are so underrated. Nothing wrong with skipping the tedious color blocking and diving right into the fun part. I hope this is a sign of more partials to come.

I love this one! There are several people in my family who are neurodivergent (myself included, though I’m not autistic) and it’s great to see people getting the message out there that we don’t need to be “fixed”, we’re not broken - just different. I had considered buying this one myself, but ended up forgetting about the release and didn’t remember it until I saw this video. I live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, so I’m sure you can imagine just how crazy this past weekend has been. We had family visiting for the eclipse and then the big day itself was pretty much non-stop. I think today was the first day I was able to sit down and just relax since last Thursday. But I’m happy to enjoy this beautiful piece vicariously through this channel.

Oh, I wanted this one, but it sold out before I could do anything about it. Ah, the joys of living overseas (currency conversion is the worst!) and on a pension. Hopefully, it comes back in stock soon. The amount of special drills this one has; oh, it's going to be sparkly.

I love that they made it extra blingy. It's going to be beautiful. It feels to me like all the extra special drills emphasize the sparkle and beauty that exist in the neuro-spicy community. I personally think you should work on it this month. I know your rainy day canvases are your special pieces, and you aren't putting them aside to hide them, but this DP shines such a joyful and positive light on an often misunderstood and discounted group that finishing the piece in the awareness month and right after its release feels like an exclamation point on and celebration of the artwork and what it stands for. My 2 cents. I always thought that the puzzle piece was the symbol of autism. Can you educate me on the differences and what is correct? As always, I appreciate and look forward to your videos.

Thank you so much for your encouragement and insight! 💛 For some, they don’t feel like the puzzle piece represents them well because there isn’t a “piece” of them that is missing because they are autistic. The puzzle piece is also the logo for Autism Speaks, which has a history of approaching autism and saying really awful things about the autistic community, so for many, the puzzle piece and that organization are tied closely together as well. There’s definitely more info out there that goes more in-depth, but I didn’t want to do a big info dump in a comment response 💛

Thank you for showing this kit. I love the look of it. I would like to ask if you can do a video on how you store your completed canvases. I have been doing kits for about 4 months now and am not sure how to store my completed pieces other then under my bed 😕
