Hi Katie, Enjoyed your WIP a lot today. I live in Ohio and it was 30 this morning. I'd like to see your stash. Mine is huge and I'll never get them all done. I'm 75 so it will be impossible to get them all completed and I keep buying them. I think I have a problem. Please don't be so hard on yourself. You do a wonderful job on your channel. If it wasn't for your tutorial on how to multi-place, I'd still be single placing. 🎼🎵🎶🎹🎻🎺🎸🎼

Great wip n chat, I am a Mom of a very grown up son with autism and I've come to live in his world than him live in mine and with this I stay home but his so funny and I am proud to be his Mom, he makes me learn every day and laugh even when it's a blippy kind of day ❤.🎵🎵❤️🎵🎵❤️

Ok. Here is another long post from me but its the way that makes me feel like I am having a conversation with you. Have you tried PO Box notifications. It lets you know when something is due to arrive and I believe it sends you a picture of the package and the date when its due to get to you. It used to be free at one time I think but not sure if its a fee now or not. I love to collect minders too. I also cross stitch and mostly HAEDs so I really need them. But I still love collecting all the things. When you went to use the Wee Wax and said "scrape"...I laughed and played it more than once. It was just tooo cute!! I also want to try to finish my canvases quickly but its because I always want to order more. Its kind of my way of controlling my stash. I do however keep it at a pace that I can enjoy as well. I am working on Outside the Sweetshop now and it is so wonderful. Im speeding along in certain areas but still enjoying the pace. I cant believe how easy the confetti is to do. Glad I kitted up the same way that you did. Dont worry about the slow down after an event. Just look at it as if we are resting with you. It takes alot of momentum for me to finish a canvas that fast sometimes and I need a little bit of a break after I complete one. So please dont change anything unless you truly want to. Also I hate that you feel you have to insert an apology. It never sounds like you are complaining about an event or your kids to me. It sounds like exactly what it is. An EXPLANATION. Just you conversating with us to tell us whats going through your mind and how you are processing things. We are your people Katie and just let the rest be the non factors that they are and keep it moving. Last thing is that I was thinking that maybe you could do a massive small shop haul and use it to clear up all the ones that you have not gotten to. Kinda like a year end review like you would do for diamond paintings. That way it clears up your hauls and sets you up to be fresh for the next year. That would be exciting to me. However you have to evaluate how much work that would be for you; but its a thought that popped into my head when you were talking about keeping things fresh when things slow down especially after an event. Told you it was a long one but its my conversation with you! Luv ya!

I always enjoy your content. Don’t tell but I always check your channel first for new videos. I follow The Principal Painter too and bought some Captured by Radiance kits 50% off. Looking forward to your unboxing. As someone looking for tips, a video with must-have accessories would be cool. Maybe choose items that must be “upgraded” for you and your best recommendations. This would be helpful for folks on a budget. Your favorite pen shop and why or your favorite tray shop and why. I would definitely watch that. That said, I would love to see entire collections of pens, kits, cover minders with commentary on what you like (or don’t like as much). For instance, I love the look of this pen (beautiful) but not the feel (comfort and functionality). I think you do a fantastic job and appreciate all of the amazing content you provide. Thank you! 🎶 I recently finished In This Moment. I love how it turned out and am back to working on Bath Time. I am going to do Jingle Drills with Lindsey so I will start Christmas Eve at the Workshop soon. ❤

Hi Katie! Thanks for another WIP n’ chat. I always look forward to them with my Monday morning coffee. To answer your question regarding using cover minders or how we deal with plastic, here is mine. I sue your method of taping off with washi. But instead of folding the plastic back and then laying it back over the drill field as needed, I remove it altogether and just keep double sided release papers on hand. I’ll use one of those to cover the square when glue is exposed. I usually will set a tray on it just to make sure nothing could inadvertently blow it off (which had never happened). 🎹🎵

Hey Katie, loved this weeks WIP was very thoughtful. I have to say this kit is one of my all time favourites 🎉! And I love ❤️ your enthusiasm. I just ha a ? That’s been niggling at me for awhile. I’m do my best to watch all of your videos since day one. And can honestly say I really feel like we could be good friends if we ever met and we seem to share a lot of life experiences. I adore hearing your family updates and Connor & Micah make me laugh so hard at their adventures. I’m also HUGE cat person. We have grown up with Cats 🐈 most of our lives. Our current luvvy is a black cat with white paws a little black streak across his nose. We adore Skippe and Conner’s shenanigans they r priceless! And Micah, oh my I need a nap just listening…lol… but there is nothing better than a Son looking at you with his heart ❤️ on his face 😂. But I do have rather skittish ? To ask. You always ask how we are? And offer to be sounding board many times. But yet the few times I have reached out to you. You never respond. Now I am completely aware of what a large following you have and it’s just not possible to connect with everyone. But I’ve left several messages and to no avail. So please 🙏 Katie if you really mean those things a quick note ( not to everyone, surely) just now and then. Would mean the world 🌎 to some of us. Sincerely Linda E. My coverminders are definitely mostly ornamental, too! They do actually magnetize (pretty strongly) my canvas to my light pad, to keep it from wiggling too much, though. I never use them to hold back plastic. 🎻🎶

Great WIP & Chat Katie! I love that you keep things "real". It's so refreshing these days. Some Questions... What is the best way to work on a larger canvas? From the bottom up? What do you do with the canvas when it starts hanging in your lap? Can you roll it and clip it to contain it... when it has diamonds on it? Im guessing its best to always keep you canvas working in the same direction... rather than flip the canvas upside down and then work from the top of the canvas design to meet your completed work in the middle? And lastly... is it better to work from right to left so your hand doesn't keep hitting the sticky canvas? Sorry!! First time DP'er!! Just finished my first "practice" canvas of 10x10" from the Dollar Store. Was addicted in less than 2 dozen drills! Thank you Katie❤ Your videos have been so very valuable and relatable to me.

I use my coverminders, but not because I need to use them. I crease the plastic like you do, then the coverminder sits there for decoration. I just love matching them to the painting. I won't lie, this weekend was a difficult one for me. I had a plan in place on what I was going to do, then it got thrown out of whack because we forgot that we were going to have my stepsons on Saturday. Then the oldest was giving us attitude and a hard time because he lost out on one of the few days he gets to spend with his mom....so yea lots of frustration and tears that day. I did not start this week on a good note and I just hope it improves from here.

You could always work on some of the ornaments from Diamond Art Club to help with burn out, or do something else that makes your heart happy. Another rainy day kit, or do all the glass instruments that have been released so far from DAC? Since you seem to be in a sentimental musical mood and need something to nourish your soul. Hope you are doing well! Or another idea, since you like doing kits based on the shows you are watching. Maybe try to find some that match the end of the Throne of Glass series or signify it, and do one of them?

Hi Katie. Thanks for a nice wip and chat while I worked on my full crystal Purple Tree from Diamond Painting Fanatics (for the #DV and Break the Silence events). I think I’m not going to join events in the future. There are just too many rules and I feel pressured. Which is not how I wanna feel around my lovely hobby. I got The Fourth Wing as an audio book - not sure how that will go but I had to give it a try. I could get so much more done if I could listen to a book while Diamond painting. I’m about halfway through A Court of Wings and Ruin, which I’m just loving. I had a rough weekend around my son and then I worked late today so I’m allowing myself to stay up late and diamond paint and listen to this audio book. 😊🎹🎼🥁🎸🎫

I always love hearing about you and your family. You're doing such a good job Momma Katie 😊 I was actually diagnosed as ADHD as an adult recently but the amount of meltdowns my single mom had to handle when I was a kid always makes me guilty. Please know that you are doing such a great job and bless you that you have Adam to support the kids (in a lot of way, mentally included). It really is not easy taking care of special needs kids! My mom is a special needs teacher (a blessing in disguise since I'm also one lol) and I have heard a lot of tantrum stories and like very negligant or entitled parents for years😢

🎺🎷🎸🎶🥰 I hear you re the alcohol trigger thingy. It sets off my IBS quite severely these days, so I have to decide if the occasion is worth dedicating the whole next day to! Sometimes it's Future Me's problem, but I've never been a big drinker, and I'd much rather be able to drive home when it suits me rather than catching a cab or public transport. Great WIP & chat, it's my first in a long while as I obsessively listen to true crime while I crochet. It's good to switch it up! Love from England to you and your family 🥰

Hi! That WIP is coming along really nice! Maybe start a round after that one is complete? I alternate now….for sanity. ☺️ On the eyeliner subject, I struggled too. All eyeliners break my skin out in eczema. Miserable, let me tell ya’! I did the permanent/ tattooed eyeliner ten years ago. No regrets what so ever. I love it. I’m older and didn’t want giant black wings (read that as Egyptian eyes) just delicate lines like I would have done with makeup. It’s faded in time is more of a soft charcoal color now which is perfect since I just turned sixty. 🎼🎻🎶

Those colors in that section are so beautiful! That blue next to the white! I am also feeling a bit of burn out doing multiple big square kits back to back. I’m still working on pumpkins for sale but really wanting to work on a round Christmas kit.. so I think I’m about to kit up another WIP! 😂 🎶

Thanks for sharing so much of your life. I’m really enjoying these Mondays. I was working on Spangler’s Bubbles. Finished a gift kit today and I’m taking all three gifts to HL to be dry mounted tomorrow. I’ll have finished 5 round kits once jingle drills is over and then maybe I’ll be ready to go back to my 2 square WIPs I haven’t touched since summer.

I wasn't a big drinker period. The most I did with alcohol was a Mike's Hard Lemonade while playing League of Legends with friends. After I had developed allergies that sealed the deal on that. I've been doing all the housework that got put off from Drills and Chills too. 🎶

Hi Katie, I always enjoy your WIPS because it feels like DPing with a friend. When it comes to minders, I struggle using washi cuz I can never get it to stick so I use release papers. If I use papers from Crafts with Crashley, I don’t need a minder. Any papers that are larger I fold it back and use a minder

Still trying to finish my Diamond Art Club WIP called “Fearless Familiar” from Halloween before Jingle Drills starts. Probably about 3/4 the way through! I hate having more than one WIP at a time. Or sometimes I’ll do a small travel one when I have a big one at home. But I think I’ll have to put a pause on this one until after jingle drills.

I'd love to see a Top 3 video where you tell us, in your opinion, your top 3 companies for trays, top 3 for pens, top 3 for waxes/putty's, top 3 for best drills, top 3 for best renderings, etc. I've been diamond painting for a year and a half but there are still so many companies I haven't tried and I still learn a lot from your videos and experiences!

To protect myself from burnout I only work 1-2 hours per day when I want to and if I want to go longer I do. If I want to do less, I do. New subscriber, love the chatty WIP videos ❤️

My last couple of weeks have been rough as I lost my Grandfather on the 4th and the funeral is this coming Friday, however I did just celebrate a birthday a couple days ago and got to spend the day just chilling with a friend in a voice call which was lovely and as a bonus I got two new DAC kits delivered to me on the day of my birthday

Try putting the lid in the oven at about 160-180 Fahrenheit for about 5 minutes, that should anneal it and relieve the stress and flatten it out 🙂

Hi Katie, I'm new to your channel but I've been binging your videos like mad! My own personal Small Shop Haul almost all comes from your suggestions! I have been diamond painting since 2019 but have only ever used the toolkit that comes with the piece and single placing diamonds. Your video about "How to place faster" CHANGED MY LIFE! I never knew there were so many products that would make my painting easier because I never thought to look! Thanks for all you do for the community!

Hi Katie, I’ve been a lurker for a long time, and I love your unboxings and WIPs. I am so jealous of how straight you place your square drills, I can’t seem to line drills up straight no matter what I do, I get very frustrated! Not to mention how slow I seem to work. I always stress myself out because I’m slow and can’t get those drills straight. I have major depression and anxiety so that doesn’t help. Plus I have fibromyalgia and a few other autoimmune diseases, all of which cause extreme fatigue. I just get so frustrated!! Thank you for your openness and honesty and sharing your personal life with us. You are always very encouraging, thank you for that. All my best to you and your family 💗

I’m so sorry! Anything that makes a relaxing craft more frustrating is definitely not ideal. If you’re looking for suggestions, maybe a different kind of pen would be worth trying? Also, different kinds of pen tips (like an angled single tip or a narrower multiplacer tip) may help too. But hopefully the drills ultimately line themselves up well as you go!

Hi ! Don’t worry, from one mom of special needs kids to another, you’re doing a fantastic job! Consider taking a redeye flight to Ohio, as your chances that they will sleep at least part of it (you and Adam take turns,) is a lot more likely! 🙂👍🏻. I am supposed to be getting my DAC advent calendar AND a custom pen grom Diamond Pen Pal this week!! So excited! 🎶🎼🎵

I definitely understand what you mean about Becoming feeling so overwhelming. I think the darker pieces in general are slower to finish, but throw in confetti and it’s a slog because of all the shading you have to do to make bits stand out. I usually have one darker one going and one that’s full of color to avoid burning out on the dark one. I also fully agree with you on the DAC placers - I will never go back! I’ve gotten so much faster since I started using them. I love how you honestly promote small businesses. You’re very kind and give the benefit of the doubt if there are issues. Your conflicted feelings about feedback are so valid but as a viewer and a potential customer, I definitely appreciate the honesty. Every item has its pros and cons so Im way more forgiving when I know what I’m in for. ❤

Thank you for being amazing as always, Katie. I was working on “The Apprentice” by Kat Fedora from Jaded Gem Shop while listening to you today. I’m glad to hear some things are turning around for you. For me I’m in pretty deep with my depression with the first Thanksgiving without my mom on the horizon. Doing my best to keep my head above water and “doing the things” but I did realize that being active in more seasonal dp events was probably more than I could handle at the moment so I’m planning on sitting back and watching and not putting the pressure on to be involved intensely. Also, your painting is working up beautifully and that new pen is gorgeous! 🎼🎹

Hi Katie! Love your WIP and chats. I finished Autumn in Leavenworth from DAC while listening today. I also noticed that you were placing drill up & down but holding your tray with the drills lined up sideways - if you turn your tray to have the drills up & down, it’s much easier on your wrist. I hear you about toying with burnout on diamond painting. Another would push me over the edge too--carefully finishing one is probably the best thing for sanity (at least it would be for me). The last few days have been so chaotic--so much to do before thanksgiving (how is that NEXT WEEK?) But I did manage to register for the USA national speed puzzling competition in San Diego in March AND found a partner (someone I haven't meet), so I'll call that a win for the week! 🎶🎵

🎹 Hi, Katie! Love spending my Monday mornings with you! Have you decided if you are going to use mica powder on the large white areas of your painting? I would love to hear about any tips you might have. BTW, you are such a bad influence...I have gone from having only 3 kits in my stash to well over 20 in just the past few weeks. I’m not sure that I’m going to need to! The drills seem to fit so snugly and well that I’m not really seeing any lines behind them. But we’ll see when I do the big upper corner!

🎶🎵 I'm still in my 20s and I think about some of things I did back in college and I'm like "what was I thinking?" Your story about chasing shots with long island teas had me saying "oh girl no" 😂 I definitely recommend Fourth Wing and Iron Flame! I really liked them! Re your dry mouth from meds, I have the same problem and I was prescribed Biotene. I'm in the UK so unsure if it's the same in the US or if you have an equivalent, but it's an artificial saliva gel that does help ❤

Burnout is the reason why I won’t dedicate my KZfaq channel to just diamond art. I go into burnout easily with crafts and rotate into them. I’m at that point here with my diamond painting. It’s to the point I’m starting to hate it so I’m easing back into my other crafts and completely shelving this craft. It’s very expensive for me and I get guilt tripped when I buy Amazon cheap kits and get told I’m a horrible person.

🎹I worked on Flamingo while listening to this. So. Much. Confetti. 😳 I have been trying to find a babysitter for my 2 year old and 5 month old for a month. Our current babysitter said she needs to quit. Which is understandable but it’s just so hard to find somebody. We only have one daycare in town and there is a 2 year waitlist 🙄 everyone else wants to be paid hourly or has no business babysitting. We have had bad experiences with 2 daycares and I am just not willing to trust just anyone. I work from home, but I’m on the phone all day so it wouldn’t make sense for them to be here. I’ve been trying to find a different job that I could keep them here, but I don’t hear back from anything. It’s stressful and I have no idea what we’re going to do. I didn’t really intend to word vomit all that, but here we are. Sorry 😬 Hope you have a great week!

I love coverminders and depending on the size of the canvas I’m working on, I’ll have 2 to 3 coverminders to hold back the cover. I also always have a trash coverminder out as well. As always I enjoy diamond painting while listening to you’re WIP and Chat! 🎶

I'm currently working on Christmas Eve at the Workshop by Dakota Daetwiler, and it is very slow going. I also have another WIP from DAC, Tiger Mantra by Christopher Lovell, that is also a square, I need more rounds, I also need some smaller kits. It seems like everything from DAC in my stash is huge! 😅💜🎶

I have a DMC Cross stitch chart for a kit I was unable to finish, I wanted to convert that into diamond painting, the only issue I have is that I only have the symbols but none of the threads have any of dmc codes on, so I can't get the right colours for the symbols
