Diana is the Spirit of the Lake. She's not trapped. She had to play the part of the stern protector in order to force the boy into movement. Remember that, in the opening scene, the boy was sleeping on the ice. This is how people die from hypothermia. She pushes him to safety. Diana was filmed in a swimming pool. CGI was added later. She doesn't appear in the film. However, she does all of the vocals for the soundtrack in addition to voice acting.

The boy's father is unable to care for him, due to his own grief. So, the boy is sent to his grandfather for a fishing adventure. This might provide a distraction. Unfortunately, the truck breaks down and a snowstorm comes in. The two become separated. The boy wanders around and becomes tired. He then falls asleep on the ice. This would lead to his death from hypothermia. This is when the video begins. The Spirit of the Lake finds him. She wakes him up and forces him to move. Movement equals warmth. She pushes him to the safety of his grandfather; whereupon they are rescued by the father. Along the way, the spirit counsels the boy toward overcoming his grief and to finding his own inner spirit. The experience also helps the father to move on with his life.

Thanks for your reaction. Too bad you didn't show the English subs, as they help explain the meaning of the video. I see that others explain the story behind the movie, which is based on true events. And there is some computer enhancement creating a kaleidescopic effect in a couple of short scenes, but she actually did the scenes under water, with eyes open, even mouthing lyrics in 3 short scenes.
