So the story goes that at the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter, she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5, she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly or even her own language. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment. By the age of 10, she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on KZfaq. Recently at the age of 18, her first performance during a new Russian television competition the show must go on with several other renowned performers has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of KZfaq 'reaction' videos, and millions of viewers. Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental, and other-worldly with her contralto voice...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation. Diana Ankudinova sings mostly in Russian, English, and French. She has also sung in other languages including such as Spanish, German, and Arabic.
