Thanks goodness Dianna told her story before she died. Imagine if she’d worried about upsetting people and never told us her story and went to the grave silent or someone else controlled the narrative. From her own words, we got to know her life, her feelings and the challenges she faced.

That’s why it’s more than fair that Harry did the same! I just finished his book and after watching this, I have no doubt that he had to write that book and tell his side of the story even if he would be criticized. I hope siblings and father can understand each other and forgive. After all, there was a lot this siblings had to forgive to their father betraying their mom and causing her so much pain. After that, Harry words are nothing.

@@joanacarvalhotoderian Before Charles resumed his affair with Camilla Diana caused HIM a lot of pain. There are enough credible eyewitness accounts that show she was not the innocent victim she pretended to be.Though not much is known about his feelings during the tough years of their marriage, there are reports and letters that indicate he was severely depressed. It was the best for both of them that they went separate ways around 1985/86, each with different partners. And don’t forget, Diana was never without a boyfriend from 1985 onwards. Although some of them were married, there sure must have been periods of great happiness. Her life was definitely not a sad one
@dominaevillae28
@dominaevillae28 4 ай бұрын
Diana was sure that she would marry Prince Andrew when she grew up. Her family took to calling her Dutch because they were also sure she would marry Andrew and become a Duchess. Once Diana realized that she could actually catch Charles, the chase was on and facilitated by her family. Diana feigned interest in Charles’ interests and hobbies (Balmoral, fishing hunting, etc.)-basically, she pretended to be who Camilla is, a hunting, shooting, fishing, reading country girl. Then as soon as they were on their honeymoon (most of which was at Balmoral), Diana declared each of his interests as borrrring. When the honeymoon moved on to Balmoral she would have have fits of screaming and crying when he wouldn’t do what she wanted when she wanted him to do it (the court was at Balmoral for the summer so there was official business going on and many witnesses). After the honeymoon she proceeded to, one by one, separate him from his friends (he would give in to avoid conflict with her), then his staff (who would quit because she would not look at or speak to those she wanted to leave. In her mind, she loved him, but then attempted to change everything about him, and if he wanted any kind of peace, he would comply. Diana and her family, particularly the Spencers, were very ambitious and misrepresented who she was to the RF, particularly regarding her emotional health & stability. The Spencer’s actually had a bit of a reputation for unstable men (Diana’s mom cited abuse in the divorce), but the RF didn’t think the mental issues affect the Spencer women. Diana actually refused to cooperate with mental health professionals provided by the RF when they realized how unstable she was, and wouldn’t accept mental health help for years (yes, the RF tried to get her professional help) until a friend threatened to out her bulimia to the press because she was afraid it would kill her. And that is just how she treated Charles. As a grown woman she held hostility towards her mother for leaving her abusive father (her mother took Diana & her brother with her but lost custody), pushed her 60 year old stepmother down the stairs (long after Diana married btw), threw her stepmother’s things out the window in trash bags after her father died, fired one staff for claiming expenses with the palace for some trips with Diana (completely legitimate expenses), and fired another who was the currier delivering tapes to Andrew Morten for her for accepting reimbursement from the publishing company. The virginal “Shy Di” persona was completely a creation of a press. A bit like the common impression that the Queen Mother “sweet ol’granny.” Diana strayed first from the marital bed, with her affair that began in 1985 with her protection officer, Barry Mannakee. She met James Hewitt shortly afterward, and they became lovers that November.

She was so insightful "A voice said to me inside, "You won't be Queen, but you'll have a tough role." "I am performing a duty as the Princess of Wales and my time is allocated and if I go anywhere else. I go somewhere else. If life changes, it changes. But at least when I finish my as I see it, my 12 or 15 years as Princess of Wales I don't see it as any longer, funny enough. I know, when I turn my light off at night, I did my best. I always knew I would never be the next Queen, and no one said that to me I just knew it put it that way. SHE KNEW! Even so she became so much more. The queen of people's hearts

Diana was amazing and she was deprived of love and affection from her father. That really hurts and then it got repeated by Charles. I am so glad they got together tho because she brought such light to the world and womanly softness that will never go away. She was a nurturing woman with a tender and kind heart. She suffered as a child and it made her compassionate not bitter. She had a great understanding of the insides of us all that's why we loved her so much and always will. She was a beautiful example of someone being both beautiful on the outside and on the inside. She definitely is the Queen of Our Hearts. We will always love you, Diana!

Come on people of the UK ,Stop dwelling on the past, Diana is gone, Everytime you bring her up think what your going to Harry and William. Queen Elizabeth asked you to give Camilla as much respect as you gave her (Queen Elizabeth) at least give Camilla a chance. She was in Love with Charles all those years and he loved her all those years too. Yes it wasn't nice what they did when Diana was alive, but it's time to move on and let them move on and live their lives. They deserve happiness. If Queen Elizabeth could, and did forgive her so should the UK it would be Elizabeth's final wish, If you loved Queen Elizabeth as you say you do then grant her this dying wish. Let Diana and Elizabeth RIP

Diana “journeyed” from being a shy, quiet, naive girl blossoming into an outgoing, public speaking, world trotting, humanitarian who refused to let anything stand in her way. It wasn’t her positive experiences or good examples from her royal family that caused her to become the powerful person she was, unfortunately, it was all the abuse she suffered at the hands of her royal family, the media & the challenges from normal life that transformed her. She became a powerful & influential person she never thought she could be, she was a lot stronger than she thought. I think Diana was a lot more powerful & influential than the Monarchy was, Diana didn’t need a crown or titles to go forward in life, she WAS THE CROWN, the fact that she was more influential than the Queen or Charles proved it. People loved the Queen because of her crown, people loved Diana because of WHO SHE WAS, Diana’s character was more influential & powerful than the Crown or the Monarchy. When the Queen travelled the world, she brought with her the “colonial” idea of the commonwealth, “this land is British territory”; when Diana travelled the world, she didn’t bring colonialism, she didn’t carry the Union British flag, Diana’s “flag” were her out-stretched hands & her smile. When she touched people with AIDS or people who were out-cast survivors of land mines, she didn’t represent Great Britain, she represented LOVE. I think in her last few years, Diana had come to realize how much more powerful she was than the Monarchy, that’s why the Royal family hated her, they hated her because she represented CHANGE, the Queen was against any kind of CHANGE. The fact that Charles was jealous of her from the beginning, the Queen tried to control her & subdue her, Prince Philip threatened her, the powers that be of the Monarchy wanted to keep her quiet, ALL PROVED SHE WAS SO MUCH MORE STRONGER. Charles envied her, the Queen, the entire family, they ALL ENVIED HER, jealous of the “spell” she had on the world. I think the Monarchy would have been so much more different had Diana become Queen, I think the Royals feared that. If Charles was truly against the old fashioned ways of his mother, Diana was the potential to be the new & modern influence he wanted to be, but he didn’t have that power, he became jealous, they were all jealous of her. In hind sight, it’s sad to think how different, how much better Great Britain & the world would have been had Diana become Queen.
