So I am sitting at my real table at my real computer playing an online multiplayer game simulating a virtual gaming table with a virtual tablet that acesses the real internet... Those are crazy times we live in xD

Actually instead of hitting "additive load" and spawning everything in, you can select expand and it will show you a list of what comes in the game you're looking at. Then you can just select what you're looking for without having to spawn in everything and then rummage through it all for that one thing. :)

@@metallsnubben you bet! I recommend playing with the game for a while, there are so many tiny controls that can make life so much easier. You can use alt when you mouse over small cards/tokens to zoom in (I've actually made tiny rulebooks that my players can thumb through for reference without having to leave the game), if you can't find the models you like, you can import a picture on a custom token. There is so much you can do, their video is a great basic introduction but it could in reality be a whole series because this game has so much you can learn to do!

Another great tip: While hovering over a deck, press a number (like, 5)...and that many cards will be dealt to your hand. Super easy. Also, i know people are likely on discord or zoom, but there is pretty nice team chat functionality.

Something that I found very useful is the magnifier (M key): it allows you to zoom in any part of the table without having to zoom everything in. Beyond reading, it'ss massively helpful to preciselymove around pieces. Having a mouse with extra buttons allows you to tie it to one and peek seamlessly at any time!

A small tip that I find to be more useful than some realise. Vector drawing for on the fly explanations or visual declarations of how you're moving pieces prevents so many arguments because some people may be looking at some other window or distracted.

Huge help. Thank you for covering TTS on steam. I've been torn in regards to purchasing to use as a D&D VTT. I recently watched a Battletech TTS stream recently that got my interest peaked, this vid just sealed the deal I think. Thanks much!

Zooming in with + and - isn't a standard control. For some reason the default controls don't include any zooming by keyboard (as we discovered last night when one person didn't have a working mouse wheel!). You need to set keyboard controls in configurations.
@kyleb8117
@kyleb8117 4 жыл бұрын
I'll add that the standard control for +/- is to enlarge/reduce the item you're hovering over which can be a very useful feature. I make custom tokens for things using this and sometimes resize things to make room.

I've been dying to play Nemesis, but that price tag is wretched, the play time is eternal, and I don't have any friends who like board games enough... Turns out it's a free add-on for this, so... Yeah, I was sold instantly.

Hey, thanks for this video, which is really useful for me and my friends! One note though, for me the music on the number cards introducing each section is far too loud. I have to turn the volume way up to hear Wheels speaking, and then rush to turn it down when the music comes in.

Incredibly timely Wheels- I think I'll check this out on Steam right now. However, only drawback to this is that you didn't mention a price (although I imagine it's quite reasonable...).

There's a link in the description so you can check the current price. Looks like $19.99 U.S., $60 for a four pack as I type this. Not a bad deal, might get better with a Steam Sale. Put it on your Steam Wishlist to get an email if/when it goes on sale.

Yes, def check during the Lunar New Year, Valentines Day, Summer Sale, Christmas sales... And check humblebundle.com. (they have bundles of games that you pay as much as you want and it goes to support charities (can set your own charity to donate to)/the parent company/humble themselves I got a bundle of SEGA games (Total War Games, Company of Heros, Warhammer 40k games) priced at about US$379, for US$12 And the store has a bunch of games including steam and Nintendo Switch games. Sometimes at super cheap depending on the sale You can sometimes get games for super cheap as well

Another useful tip: There are Discord servers specifically for Tabletop Simulator (one is official) and you can join these servers and get pinged for games that people want to run. The game itself also has a chat room you can use in the main menu. You can't talk yourself out of buying it because there's nobody to play with. There's plenty. (My apologies to your wallet. You'll thank me later.)
