Ai didn't plan her death, it would be weird and it wouldn't make much sense. She expected something to happen to her (DVD and her monologue before her death are proof), but she didn't want to die. She wanted people to ask if she's not to young to be Ruby's mother and she wanted to do mother-daughter performance as idols with Ruby. At the same time, I think she thought she deserved death and that's why she expected someone wanting to kill her. She though that the person she *really* is would be targetted by her fans if they learned about it (by B-Komachi documentary, probably). She did describe herself as dirty and unfair. That's why I think she got Hikaru to get her pregnant despite not loving him and despite him not wanting kids [and she probably knew about Hikaru's trauma] and that's why she thinks she'd be hated for who she really was. And yet, she wanted to be loved for who she was. That's why I think she wants Aqua and Ruby to out her real self [and her wrongdoings] and show the world who she really was - and either get their forgiveness and love, or hate. There's no other reason for the movie to feature Kamiki's tragic backstory and for Kana to describe it as a movie filled with his kindness (even though it shouldn't be). Or why would Ai want *adult* Aqua and Ruby to fulfill her wish and why she thought that they would only comprehend it after they've grown up. I don't think Ai would want Hikaru dead. Considering what she did to him and how she accepted her death and forgave her killer, I think she regretted what she'd done to the point of understanding and forgiving him. She might've expected Hikaru to hate her, but I don't think she though he'd kill her, though.

I don't really sway one way or the other whether she was involved with her own death but... "but she didn't want to die. She wanted people to ask if she's not to young to be Ruby's mother and she wanted to do mother-daughter performance as idols with Ruby." I think this lacks insight to wanting to die and suicide. It's common to still want to do things and even schedule things past the date they plan to die (whether they actually want to do it or keep putting on the act for strangers and loved ones that they plan to keep living to lessen questions or to make the life of others more peaceful), so I think it's weak reasoning to doubt it.

@@wombat4583 Sure, but you're missing the context. Ai wasn't suicidal (at least we don't know if she was, she might've been). She was killed. And she says those words at the death bed. At that point she LITERALLY expresses the regret of dying because she wanted to experience those things during her lifetime. Not mention that it wasn't a plan. It was something akin to a wish - Ai wanted to have those things, she didn't plan her. Actually, it made no sense for Ai to say that considering that at the time Ruby'd become an idol she would be too old for it herself. Actually, if we go with plans then the documentary and the performance at the dome which were scheduled to happen after Ai's death are much better candidates. Also, real life and fiction aren't the same. The "weak" reasoning in real life is perfectly valid in real life. I know and understand perfectly fine how suicidal people feel, but it doesn't apply here. Simple as that. Not to mention that people who want to die often don't want to worry their loved ones or them to be sad. And yet, Ai "choose" in such a complicated way and on the only people she cared about (and little kids)'s eyes? Also you say it's a weak reasoning to doubt it, while it's just one of my arguments (there's more). If you add weak reasonings together you have a solid case still.

@@TheSoulCalledZuzia I never claimed she was suicidal (though I also can't cross out the possibility). If she did have a hand in her death it would imply she was to some extent. My comment is based on yours and while I don't necessarily disagree with your premise your logic of how you came to that conclusion is ignorant. People are complex. They can regret something and do it anyway. Sometimes people chose between things that are regretful regardless of the action, it's just acout which action taken. You're thinking too black and white.

@@wombat4583 Yes. *People.* Fictional characters aren't "people". They're often complex and human-like, but they'll never be human. Writing fiction/characters is different than living a real life. You call my logic ignorant, and yet you only quoted *one* of my reasonings. There's many reasons why this theory doesn't make sense. Many of which I've written down in my previous response. Didn't you read it? And I know you didn't say she's suicidal. I said she *might* be suicidal and that's only because of what Ai, at her core, is. She might've been suicidal, she might've been not. She might've wanted to die, but not be willing to die. Those are all possibilities. But even if Ai was suicidal she wouldn't choose to die like this. This thinking is way too flawed. When it comes to fictional character, I like to think about what they feel and most of the time I think I'm successful in it. And yet, you're saying I'm thinking way to black and white. Because there's no reason for Ai to want to plan her death, not like this anyway.

I think that with this single chapter the term "use" has taken on a different, less negative meaning. Anyway, why do I already know that we won't get an answer to the question "What is Ai's request and what did she know about Hikaru" for at least 20 chapters? I understand Aka's desire to create suspense, but how much it bothers me not to know right away 😢. Also, we need Memcho therapy for Aqua, she is so underated as a character.

Well Memcho mentioned that there's a kindness to it. So Aqua did use them but there's also a benefit in return. Memcho & Ruby achieve their goal as idol. Kana got a footing in the industry (not just a kid star) & Akane became a star actress (avoid getting her contract terminated).

Aka will put that in, but you know it will have to explain how Hikaru got to be a serial killer. It's going to be really messed especially that statutory rape part at 11. The only time I said WTF out loud when Akane mentioned that.

I think Ai found out about Hikaru’s plan to kill her only when it was too late to prevent her death. Ai would’ve never made the DVDS if she didn’t know cause she would’ve thought she could have told Aqua and Ruby whatever was on them in person when they turned 15

I just caught up to Oshi no Ko the day after chp130 came out, I'm glad to finally be able to watch your videos on it now. I've never been so consistently shocked while reading a manga (granted it may be because I haven't read too many) and I just love the series for it. Personally I think this chapter was really nice because it's been a while since they focused to Mem and not the others. Anyways I look forwards to your next chapter review, thanks.

I think we are about to get an attack on titanesque book reveal like with the grand secret reveal between ai and hikaru...remember hikarus past, ai's mysteriousness, that demigod child and the reincarnation development going on...i believe there are huge supernatural elements that will be be opened upto us not just the slice of life style of this anime!

Ai Hishino had an idea what was coming a premonition in part. And knowing what an asshole that Aqua and Ruby 's father was and still is. She knew it was coming. (Pardon my language for cursing). However I think it might come as a shock in the future that she planned on getting revenge on him after her death. She might be telling her children to avenge her death. So very Shakespearean I think. It is like Hamlet. But then again alot of japanese Noh plays have the same story plot. I know in japanese history there is a story of two daughters who avenge their father and killed the samurai who murdered him. So yeah it's not a shocker. I love this manga. With the honesty about the entertainment industry especially in Japan, the revenge arc. It is very human. ❤ great video ❤

Maybe I'm missing here something but ... how do you think Aqua was using MEM-cho? Like, what did he ever do and what did she ever do for him? I am kinda lost, it came out of nowhere. Is it tied back to that one chapter where it was heavily hinted that between Akane and Arima, he secretly chose her since she is older and he likes older women and they had sex in her room? So he was kinda using her to satisfy his needs for older women?

No that's not it. Memcho is like the trump card in Bkomachi. She's an influencer and has a lot of fans so scouting her made the Bkomachi popular. She also have connections, she collab with other influencers to promote Bkomachi & even create their music video. If B-komachi isn't popular then Aqua cannot take a move since he need their popularity to announce that Ruby & Aqua are Ai's children & that would trigger the whole media to their attention. After conquering the media, he can use that to attack Hikaru (by creating the movie). Of course he also have his own move like creating connection with backstage ppl (staff, producer, directors) but without the limelight (attention) he cannot take an action.
