Andre Ward escaped out of the back door. Ward is a great boxer but Kovalev gave him issues. Canelo is much more skilled. For Ward fleeing alone, Canelo is greater than Ward. This is why matches like Spence vs. Crawford are so significant and mean so much more. It must be proven to see who is the best but you cannot force a boxer to compete. If he does not compete, then he has no business being considered the best. This individual has relinquished the opportunity to be considered the best. The reason for fleeing must be legitimate, age and injury being the more common legitimate reasons.
