We have always known when George would die -- before Sheldon left for Stanford. The part that I appreciated most is that they set up a typical morning routine of everyone worrying about their own thoughts, George left home without a goodbye from anyone in his family. How often does that happen in everyone's lives? We just get caught up in ourselves and don't even notice those that we love the most and are closest to us. While they were anxiously waiting for George to return for a family picture session, they discover the horrible reason he is not coming home. I think that serves as a reminder to all of us in the way we treat others, it might be the last time we see them. Take the time to say, "I love you."

I liked how they didn't show george having a heart attack for the 3rd time which caused his death. The concept of you not even knowing that someone in your family just passed away without you even knowing until someone tells you out of nowhere is just gut wrenching and I think Young Sheldon executed it very well

Was one of the great scenes in television. CBS's ad that followed really wasn't noticed, audiences where still taking the reality of what had just happened in. 4 days later....still mourning here...lol

I thought they handled the death perfectly where it wasn't shown, but the expression on his friends' faces it wasn't a lie. I liked how they changed George's narrative by actually being a good father. I believe Sheldon's grief twisted his reality cause he really had no friends or family in California to help him through it.

I'm still struggling and grappling with the loss of my favorite Young Sheldon character George Cooper Sr after witnessing the ending of episode 12. 😢

I had a similar incident as this show. A cop knocked on our door and told us that my dad was in a car accident. As I told him to hang on, that I was going to get dressed and go see my dad, thinking that he was in a hospital, I heard loud crying from my room and I ran back to the family room. I asked the cop if he was going to be OK....he shook his head and said that he was sorry...and my dad had passed. My hero was gone.

I honestly didn't notice the commercial, I was too busy crying my eyes out😭 RIP George❤

It was more than just a voice over from adult Sheldon, but we did not see his death on screen. I thought it was handled perfectly. As for the commercial that followed, I bet alot of people were too busy processing George's death to notice.

I disagree. The silence was perfect. No lingering. The shock had been delivered and the recoil was silent as it was driven inward. I know that's where it stayed with me: inside. Any Memorial moments should have come later. No.. the timing and delivery were perfect

I was shocked by the death. I did not know it was coming and it really impacted me. I didn’t see the other credits or whatever rolled after that, but I thought they really did a good job of that scene. I will miss the show. I really like it. I am glad that Georgie and Mandy have a show coming up and maybe will still be connected to the other characters.❤

I was so absorbed by the reactions of Mary, MeeMaw, Missy, and, especially, Sheldon, I honestly did not notice the credits and rewatched the scene at the door several times. I thought it done well.

Will not watch this episode. Knew it was going to happen but didn't want it to. George was a good guy doing the best he could for a family that didn't really appreciate him. Happens all to often in real life. I'll remember George as he was alive.

But i will say this, i am glaad they did not depict George as the good for nothing drunk that was depicted on Big Bang Theory. He was too beloved to have done that. I will tell you this, it was well executed , i cried like a baby, so did everyone in my circle.

I think the decision to have him "absent" from the final scene left his death more acceptable. I didn't want him to die. I don't want the seasons to end. I want the show to continue and show how Sheldon adapted to his new college, roomates etc at the very beginning. (I know the big bang theory touched on this in a way). I don't like the older MeMaw, she isn't stylish and humorous like memaw in Young Sheldon. The mother's are related so that worked. I hate to see a series die with George gone.

I miss the Big Bang Theory so much. This show helped to fill that void, and now it is going to be gone as well. I heard the new spin-off is about the older brother. Don't think I will care much about that one. It is too far away from the original. A spin off about Walowitz would have been better.

This is a TOTAL NON-STORY. The tragic scene was the final scene of the episode. Good luck in today's world getting a follow-up staying on point when either credits are to run or the next show is being previewed. CBS was never going to pay tribute to the character when there's other business for the network to attend to and exit credits to run as well. That'll probably happen during next week's finale. It won't happen on the exit play out. Again, this is not even an issue.

I Think they shouldve ended the series with him still alive. Couldve mentioned his passing in a epilogue. Remember him as he lived, not just how he died

Young Sheldon is a fantastic show, (huge TBBT fan here) but it had to end as Sheldon is growing up fast, speaking of which, all I noticed were young Sheldon's gigantic boobies in the shot.
