I think this could be true! Ben saying “Mama’s back” sounds much more like something a gay man would say than a straight man! And I love the connection between Ben’s opening line and The Rocky Horror Picture Show!

That's a pretty good theory! I did see the Ben poster in armoire but didn't make the closeted connection.

Since the last episode I really think it's either Donna or Cliff. For me it's most likely Donna. It has to be someone who we met in the first three episodes who doesn't stand out during the season but keeps appearing. At least that's what I think after watching season 2. Until the last maybe two episodes there WAS NOTHING that would have made Poppy suspicious.

Hi, Dallas! That was me!!! I posted that because of the "visual clue" of the cutout of Ben in the armoire possibly being a metaphor for Ben being "closeted" about his sexuality! I made a post online about it and I think I also posted here on your KZfaq! If Ben was in the closet, then he could've had a romantic relationship with Cliff, for example. This week I strongly suspect that Donna and Cliff were involved in Ben's murder! And that, even though it hasn't been brought up on screen, that Cliff and Ben had a relationship that perhaps Donna didn't approve of or maybe Ben hurt Cliff and Donna was protecting him...that's my theory taken a step further! Anyway, I'm the person who I think you're looking for!

I had the craziest idea from the very beginning of this season but I was hesitant and scared to share it anywhere. Theo. Theo is the pusher :( I LOVE Theo. I ship Theo and Mabel. But he is my suspect. Remember it was silent in Ben’s dressing room? It seemed Ben was alone. Most people theorized Ben was talking to cookies. Some decided he was rehearsing. But what if he was with somebody who is using a sign language as a means to speak? That was my first thought. In season 2 writers made sure to let us know that Theo is a very good lip reader! In the «One killer question» podcast the actor who plays Howard said «one of us still could be a killer» referring to Howard, Will and Theo.

Omg! I didn't notice the gay necklaces (there are even memes about them surfer necklaces) from the 90's!!! I thought he was too quirky and sassy but I guess I was seeing Ben as Paul Rudd...

There are so many gay men on this show. Could be Howard Johnathan. Could be any character. There are pictures of Ben in every place in his apartment. Maybe you're right but not sure they would make such a big deal about his sexual orientation

I think it's Donna for a different reason. I started researching The Producers Broadway play after I saw it showing up in so many articles referencing the cameos of Matthew Broderick and Mel Brooks. Martin Short played one of the characters in another run of the show. That said, clues that Donna could be the killer if the plot is the same: * References to financial trouble - # of zeros in her account, fact that Oliver owes her money * Episode devoted to how superstitious people are in Broadway and Donna's comment about the fact that Ben's accident happened in the Goosebury, the same theater as Splash, was a possible sign he was cursed * Cliff was friends with a Broadway legend who would have joined the play from the beginning, but he went around Donna to contact him (Donna asks Cliff to run all his ideas by her since they're all bad) * Donna lobbying so hard for Charles to stay in the play when he can't really sing and has no stage acting experience * The fast decision to close the play. * The fact that this is actually Cliff's first time as a producer so she technically can say the failure wasn't because of her. I wouldn't think they would just use a Broadway show plot for season 3 but maybe????

I think on stage Ben entered the “white room “. Later at the elevator he was telling Cliff he couldn’t perform. Cliff proceeded to “ stress dance” upset by him leaving the show and accidentally bumped Ben into the elevator shaft. Your theory could also apply here also if they liked each other romantically.Ben could have been breaking up with Cliff by the elevator.

I doubt Donna and Cliff are real Mother and son. It doesn't make sense
