Guardiola had a successful time at Bayern. He changed the way they played. Bayern evolved and played some of the best football in Germany. He did not win the UCL but that should not be the only criteria used to measure the success over the span of three years. In some instances He got unlucky especially against Atletico Madrid where Bayern dominated over the two legs and Muller missed a penalty. The UCL is not easy to win no one ever said it was. 29 Trophies in 12 years in three different countries the stats speak for themselves. It seems Pep is the only manager in the history of football that has to win the UCL every year which is a ridiculous set of expectations. Sir Alex Ferguson won twice in 1999 and 2008 over the span of a 30+ year career and yet he is considered the greatest manager of all time. Many don't call him a fraud just as Mourinho hasn't won the UCL since 2010. The key to greatness is the level of competitiveness exhibited over many years.

Guardiola made Robben pass the ball is his greatest achievement at Bayern. Earlier Robben used to cut from the left and score goals at ease. Haha!! Jokes apart, Guardiola did improve the Bayern system to a whole new level. I don't know why Germans are so obsessed with the Champions League and gauge a manager's performance based on how many ucls he has won?? Even Zidane after leaving Madrid in 2018 said winning the league title was his greatest achievement. Guardiola is the reason why Bayern Munich is dominating so much now. I am not going to take away Hansi Flick's achievement but Guardiola and Jupp did shape up the Bayern Munich of today. Anyway, Bayern fans just remember that Roberto Di Matteo was sacked even after winning UCL in 2012. So winning UCL is not the only factor to gauge a manager. A lot comes together to debate who is the greatest manager. If winning UCL was the only factor, then people would have hailed Zinedine Zidane as the greatest ever rather than hailing Sir Alex, and Your own manager Jupp Heyneckes would not have been fired by Real MADRID after winning UCL in 1998.

Because of the level of each league. For bayern fans they knew that bundesliga is mostly a 1 team winning team ever since bayern took dortmund players. Bayern is also scalping other german teams. So bayern fans want the champions league more. La liga was dominated by barcelona so for both madrid team, winning it is an achievement. Cant say anything about now because barcelona is its downfall. Then epl which is more harder to win the league. Sure if you just go to wiki and look at the winners, you see city winning it 3rd times in a row but doesnt paint the picture. Look at the top 6, some of those team are champion league contender or league. So overall for bayern fans, winning bundesliga and other cups seems boring for them. No point of celebrating when you won the league 9 times a row. Even bayern fans know they are playing in a true farmer's league.

I would say it was a bit like mourinho at real, pretty good success and changed their teams playing style for the coming future but failed to win the ucl.

The hate for Pep is so stupid, he created the best team ever at Barca. He played beautiful football at Bayern and went to the UCL semi finals every season. And now at City he’s gonna have won 3 titles in 5 years, a 100 point campaign, and a quadruple. But because “LiverpoolTillIdie37” said he’s overrated he must be.

And how about champions leagues even if Bayern did not have a coach they would win at least 2 ucl in those 3years of pep he will never join a team that does not have a messi a robben or a debruyne

I feel like he negatively affected the Germany national team, even slightly noticeable during the 2014 World Cup but fully evident in the next two major international tournaments

That's a bit of a stretch. I'd say Löw rather adapted to how most of his players played at club level (and how some of the best teams in Europe were playing at the time) and was successful in 2014 because of that. But Löw hasn't matched the rate of player turnover since the 2014 World Cup with a similar adaptation to play style and tactics.

I'll be the first sing Guardiola's praises but Bayern Munich is a such a well-run club that they ensure they have current and future world-class players at all times. Those signings are the result of the likes of Sahilamidzic and Sammer.

@@NuSquared Pep first used Alaba as CB and gave Kimmich plenty of game time; He also benched Ribery to start Kingsley Coman(19 yo). The only problem at Bayern was he was outclassed by Anchelotti, beaten by PRIME MSN and Prime Oblak..

That's not fair lol...yes he may have relatively underperformed (compared to Barca) at Bayern but City have gone up a level since he came

@@NuSquared the way I see it Manuel Pellegrini did most of the work. Pep maybe improved it more but he did not take them from 0 to hero exactly. EDIT Jurgen Klopp is a coach that has little money but creates superstars and takes teams from bottom or midtable to top. Just look what he did at Mainz,Dortmund and Liverpool. The only thing Pep is best at is tactical analysis. Tacticly he is the best coach but that is not enough.

From my view the fact that Guardiola has been so successful previously and so early in his career basically means he'll never get all his props no matter what he does (even winning a treble) or how well he does it

@@TheFuentes5551 well its not like Pep went and bought stars with City's money, he only got the players that were required for for his specific style, and talking about Klopp, he got the finances for his key players cuz we went and bought Coutinho with all the profits we got from Neymar, that's a lot of money tbh
