Recently we scored when no one showed up at the auction. We picked up a 10' x 20' locker for just $50! And it looks good too, with dust and cobwebs and nearly full of goodies we need to go through.
This is part 5 of what I'm calling the "Auction No Show" series. I'm back at the unit, digging through more boxes. This locker is much better than I first expected it to be. We've already found some nice stuff, and in this episode I find even more collections, including hundreds of tiny vintage perfume bottles!
What did we find? What other collections did this guy have? You'll have to stay tuned and find out. Come along with us for another storage locker adventure, and get a taste of what makes us Locker Nuts.

FYI: Avon Skin so Soft with repel bugs, mosquitoes, ticks, etc. We use it here in Wisconsin all summer long. Better than stinky old bug spray.

Avon Skin so Soft is what we use in the south for insult repellant on our kids. Mosquitos hate that stuff, it works great!

...if only it truly DID repel "insults" as well as bugs! =) That's alright- I went through gallons of that stuff when my kids were little~ bees hated it too. I can still almost smell it, such a familiar scent~ I suppose that's cell memory. Teasing your spell check, of course~ couldn't help myself =)

We use it for the Scottish midge that we get here in the Shetland Islands, North East of Scotland.

The small perfumes are usually gift with purchase or a celebration of 30 years of making that perfume. My Sister worked for Nordstrom’s in Seattle and sold perfume. She was given many of those and they are worth money.

When I was very young I would buy my mother Evening in Paris perfume. At the time I thought it was just wonderful.....now I know why it was so cheep.....lol!

AVON skin so soft was no only a good bug repellant, it is also good for cleaning greasy wooden kitchen cabinets.

I just started watching Locker Nuts and became a subscriber few weeks later. Have been going back and watching your older videos. I have watched a lot of storage buyers and I found you guys refreshing. No drama, foul language, and nasty assumptions of previous owners. I love when you find information on previous owners there is compassion. Thank you you guys are refreshing and I look forward to watching the videos. One more thing.....I love your cat almost always makes a cameo appearance when you are home.

Hey Jack~ be sure you look up the makeup as well- some of can bring same good$$ as perfumes, especially if discontinued brands or colors. Same w/nail polish & hair products, which you likely already know. Just in case, thought I'd mention :)

Tip: Skin so soft oil rubbed on repels mosquitos. It works.

The loupe is used for checking negatives over a light table before exposing the photo paper. Wow...it's been a long time since I was in a darkroom (like when I was in 9th grade--and before you were born). :D

That Reel is used to load your exposed film on to put it into a Day Light Developing can and you DID figure it out when you found the container. That developer is mixed with distilled water to make you developing solution. GOOD STUFF FOR THE RIGHT BUYER!

Thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. Just a short comment on the eye glasses and with gold metal frames. Most made these days are just gold colored. Years ago (1967-77) when Hubby was in the Army, we got our eye glasses through the Flight Surgeon, the metal frames were gold. Didn't realize that until after I had donated the older glasses to a charity box. Those frames were expensive, but hope the organization I donated to checked the frames.

I'm guessing you could sell the photography/developing stuff in a lot on ebay. Light table, red light, special timer, trays, all the stuff! That Lands End bag is a good one. My hubby used one to carry his stuff to work for many years--and the long strap allowed him to put it on like a messenger bag when he was riding his bike or his motorcycle. It finally wore out after about 20 years and I special ordered one for him from Land End. It's still going strong, even though he is retired now. He uses it as a weekender bag when we make short trips. Good quality stuff. (and probably more than you wanted to know). I'm liking this unit. WooHoo...Mont Blanc found! Another thing about Avon Skin-So-Soft--it's commonly used as a mosquito repellent here in Minnesota where the mosquito is the state bird. Safer than stuff with DEET (but not as effective). Chantilly, White Shoulders, Shalimar--those are fragrances that have been around a LONG time. Chantilly was "granny" perfume when I was a teen and now I'm a granny. I worked at the cosmetics counter at a drug store when I was 16. I had a *lot* of those little perfume samples.

I used to use Skin so Soft for bathing my dog. He had very itchy skin and it also seemed to take care of fleas. We lived on a farm and had lots of land for him to roam and get into things. He was a border collie and was a great dog. do not know if that is approved now, have not had occasion to use it since living in a different area and that sweet dog passed away. But just that little information. Love the locker and thanks for sharing with us, so much fun in the comfort of my own home.

I remember Evening in Paris in the late 1940's early 1950's would buy for my mother at the Five & Dime as a present. Goodness, I had no idea it was still around at my age of 79 years.

Colognes and perfumes bring a lot of money, even small bottles. But, check on shipping, U.S.P.S. is a bear about shipping flammable liquids. 100.00 would be cheap for that box. Cheers, Rik Spector

I really like your content you two. I admire the way you take your time to establish the value of your finds for Ebay. A steady stream of income for a big family as opposed to a one time chunk of cash. Today the pens and cameras will do great on Ebay. Enjoy your sense of humor too! Also about the Skin so soft, if you go where there are a lot of bugs or mosquitoes, that stuff works like Off bug spray but better. A lot better!!! My mother swears by it!!! 😉

Jack the Evening in Paris is very expensive I have a collection of over 80 different bottles of it and I bought most of them at antique stores because you can’t find them anywhere else. Jack look into getting one of those magnetic door screens and put it on the opening to the unit where the sun shines the most. It doesn't have to reach the ground. God bless

The Tarocco soap and lotion products come from one of the Casino hotels. A couple of the casinos in Northern California use those products. I loooooove this locker so far!

That Avon skin so soft can be also used for horses. Spray it on the horse to keep flies away from it. Oh my goodness, that seashell hanging thing would catch so my dust and I wonder how you could clean it. Money in all of that makeup and things. You could probably make more in your auctions for that perfume lot. Resellers would love it! You'd probably get $200+ better than $100 on ebay.

Skin so soft is good to keep mosquitoes off of you too. When they first came out with it probably in the 80's everyone bought it for that. You really did get a decent unit. You are going to make a pretty penny out of it. Yay.

We use it on our dogs to repel flies and insects if they are going to be outside. Also works great on our potbellied pig that dont like to get dirty. Its pricey but works wonders

That peacock thermos will sell for more than others by that brand. The metal looking ones seem to be more sought after. That looks like copper, people love the look of copper. You can get $20-$25 maybe more

I really don't think any other channels are as good as yours. I use to watch about 7 and I'm done to 3 now. They are all doing live auctions now but the items aren't even as nice as the things you pick out. I honestly don't trust them. Jack, set up an easy up or get you a hat. My daughter took photography in high school. I bet there is someone who would like to develop their own film. Make it a whole “lot” and you might find someone who wants it.

the Minolta is from the mid-'60s my dad was a pro photographer, the different Nikon lens looks like it for an enlarger. the round stainless steel was for developing B&W film the chemicals are most likely no good anymore they only have a shelf life of about 10 years. I was developing my own size 120 and 35mm film in 1968.
