Recently, Kamen Rider Majade first henshin has happened in the Kamen Rider Gotchard series. She's the first female secondary rider, so I really wanted to talk about it this week.
This is my channel where I review Tokusatsu, including Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and Power Rangers.

She transformed in the cross over movie only reason she couldn’t transform was because it was a mighty action x situation in which they wanted for people who didn’t see the movie not be spoiled about it though in episode 16-18 they established her transformation to allow for the movie to be semi canon in the show and also while she couldn’t transform she still had unicon and the sun chemy in her arsenal to use in the chemy riser, also in ep 16 she fired off the sun with the chemy riser with the explosion becoming a meme also valvarad’s driver is literally the same as Rinne’s only the Gotchardignighter is built into it

i like how people say that valvarad's driver is different but hotaro even points out that it's a gotchard driver. it really makes you wonder why tf it was special in the first place if they could just duplicate this shet.

@@larrytherustyboii7442 just like most other rider belts such as Ryuki, Kabuto, Gaim, Build, Ex Aid, Ghost, Zi-O and Geats? In this show this kind of thing can happen, and is not like it was stated that the driver couldn't be recreated in the first place.

I usually love movies being canon but I legit got really weirded out with that initial confusion about Majed debut, other than that, really love her kicking fighting style, real horse like. also love that she has the spacial subtype also common thats her own driver, the white stuff is not removable in the toy, just beacuse a driver uses part of another it doesnt discounted them as their own thing, for Toei as long as it looks sligthly different and has another name thats good enough. but yeah this new arc is really odd like an inverse Hibiki situation

there was gap in between episode 15 and 16, in that gap the crossover movie with geats happened where essentially all you need to know was that Rinne transformed into Majade after meeting her "dad" in a dream world and Houtaro essentially has all 8 level 10 chemies

So, if you remember the end of the X-Rex episode, X-Wizard made a cameo appearance. This was a teaser for the winter movie where Rinne first transformed into Majade. Turns out it's straight up canon. All of that happened. And it's gonna be months before we can watch it to fill in the blanks.

I was wondering because when their sensei betrayed them, they showed wizard being taken over by the other inspector and apparently gotchard already turned into his all x form AND the villain said "the real fight starts next year" so i knew im definitely missing something 😂

The idea of Majade being a ""female secondary"" rings hollow to me. Mostly because we've already had two other Riders and one quasi-Rider who is now becoming a full Rider and feels like he has as much claim to the secondary slot as Majade does. She does have a nice suit, though, and while I'm not a fan of her just reusing the main belt, I do think it's nice that her item interacts with a ring, Wizard style. I dunno. Like most things in Gotchard, I'm just not impressed.

It seems like Toei is trying out new ideas for their shows. For example, the Precure anime is adding a guy to the team. So far he's alright, but it doesn't feel like he clicks well with the others, and it felt like the writers couldn't decide what the plan was for him. He also didn't click well with the other members. I wouldn't mind another try, but maybe take a break from it right now.

it's more like writers wanted it and not really toei. I don't have issues for a guy to be in precure but not every girl sees that and wanna buy it. it brings something fresh to the story but toei only wanna see what sells. i remember in revice, the jeanne was supposed to be originally her only story and was hoping she was gonna be the main rider but toei higher ups didn't wanna risk it so they add aguelera for it and pushed her for third rider. In the end they just want to sell something that just works, if a car is gonna sell, they just gonna do it. the only reason i know well why they wanna sell majade was the same reason they marketed hotaru actor to death. like rinne actor is popular but not insane like hotaru actor where shit is literally everywhere with his face😂

Not gonna lie this Pet theory that "wirthers wanted but toei said no" was always odd to me. Because how fucking disjointed these additions fell. Majede is just the most recent example/victim of this "having no fucking clue" issue. For as much she is paraded as the first secondary rider to be female, she doesn't really work as the counterbalance to hotaro as a hero like a secondary rider do, they still are giving her the same plot points they give to female riders in general. This tells me that is more like corporate want to try these new ideas to the fans seem to react well on social media but the wirthers don't really put the effort in making it work. The magical girl genera itself is even more bafling mostly because in its roots you can encounter male users playing supporting roles that can have this inspiration.

FLOW's new version of the opening song doesn't feel like it builds on the original in any way. It just feels different for the sake of being different, and also in changing the instrumentals now some of the chords sound wrong and so the song sounds worse. It feels like it was phoned in, kinda.

The reason it doesn’t sound different is because it’s the same song, just a bit later in the song. I think it’s meant to be a progression since Gotchard went from alchemy school to everyone flipped on their head as a kinda small issue became massive.

i like that fire gotchard is similar to ghost boost where it's a power up form but it's a power up form that lets you use your previous forms as well.

@@larrytherustyboii7442 Well, the main idea of Toucon boost was to be used moreso with Goemon, Ryoma and Himiko. I still think we got more past form upgrades with it than we have so far with Fire Gotchard and with Iron Gotchard coming this Sunday, it's probably not getting more forms.

@@larrytherustyboii7442 I would argue Gotchard's main selling gimmick is more cards than actual toys. Also, if the budget was an issue, they could've fixed that by not having so many forms. Also, Genius didn't really need to use different abilities since it could do so much on its own.

The only one that has their own unique driver in the series is Dread, all the others are just add-ons. Though at least she gets her own and not just a copy of Gothcard's.

Alchemy is kindof magic but its more science of turning one form of matter into something else like rocks into gold and also Majade First showed up in the Geats x Gotchard movie that came out last year the only reason you have not seen it is cause its not on digital forms yet so its not subbed

Geryon keeps talking about chemistry but also turning things into gold which is alchemy, chemistry is combining substances to create new ones and the gotchardriver combines chemys into new forms. Heck even the theme song says chemistry and not alchemy

The driver for Majade actually is a P-Bandai item which requires you to pay up the yin-yang for it compared to the normal DX stuff as it's something you have to pre-order in advance and they make it based off that number of orders. For some reason, all of the female rider stuff is like this. I guess Bandai is just sexist as hell?

I go off of the manga where Stronger gave Tackle the title of Kamen Rider after her death. But yeah, Majade debuted during the movie which pissed everyone off as it is now an essential thing to watch for the season. It's like skipping 3 episodes if you didn't see it >_> Apparently, it was either during Geats or Gotchard where there were talks of having a female lead Rider, but got passed over for the former. Almost there ;w;

And we just ignor the fact the show in ep 1 make big deal the Gotcha driver is one of kind and all, and yet so far the next 2 rider il just have a copy with an attaptiom add on to say is driffren .

I think you misunderstood something . The sisters and Grion don’t want the gotchadriver in the first place . What they want are the philosopher stone that Rinne’s dad had installed inside houtarou’s driver , not the driver itself

Also, no, some of the movies are 100% canon to the story. It's that most of the time is only one or two while the series is still running before post show V-Cinemas happen. For example: The crossover between build and ex-aid is canon to the show because of the gears system and the plan to fuse two earths. Another one would be the Ghost and Ex Aid crossover movie, since Dr Pacman was heavily referenced during Ex Aid and such. One last example would be Gaim's Summer Soccer movie, since it has the even golden apple rider that appears by the end of Gaim. Also the both of Decade's movies are canon, like his half of Kamen Rider W vs Kamen Rider Decade is the canon ending to the show (idk why) and the one he becomes a titan with Kamen Rider J. Just some of the movies are self contained, like most Super heroe crossover movies

I wish they go back into ryuki -> kabuto era of movies which separate from main timeline/ series. Nowadays, the movie & crossover are just making the timeline and continuity way more confusing 🤣 rather than solving or answering some questions, it's overwhelming. This type of movie which introduce the 1st henshin of spesific character also not good for the series tho

We know from press, writers always wanted to try write a cool female character but often times you got mostly no because kamen rider is mostly targeted for boys and why they really just never encourage it much. for me it's cool to have a female rider but i know not most boys would wanna buy a girl belt. it's like the equivalent of magical girls all of a sudden sells guns, it's cool but girls aren't really that interested. Which is why, precure have like transformation items that are make up boxes or a magic wand. in instances where toei and bandai would risk it, they would put a rider that is more bizarre. Here, majade is literally bandai fucking premium, like tell me how she isn't supposed to be a movie rider first than a second rider😂.

Tackle didn't eat a nuke i guess. And yeah Joji Yuuki wasn't originally a rider. He was declared one postmortem. Also the Showa shows normally only had one rider with Hayato being a real life exception. Then Joji was retconned to be alive in ZX where he was declared the fourth rider with the story that explains the retcon shown in Kamen rider spirits a retelling of ZX and is more or less the canon tale on how he survived. Essentially washing up on the Philippines with amnesia and being taken care of by the locals until a kaijin attack.

Majade has to be the most heavily paywalled secondary rider I’ve ever seen. Her debut was in a movie, her driver is a premium Bandai exclusive which you need the gotchard driver as well

Oh of _course_ the series that doesn't interest me thematically is the one that finally does this 😂😭 Still, happy to hear the news! I still remember the Female Rider Curse clear as day - putting on a belt as a possessor of two X chromosomes used to actually be a death flag! Your analysis of Toei's slow experimentation with leading ladies tracks with my watch experience as well (and by my hearsay, boys in Pretty Cure have been following a similar trajectory?). Kind of wish it didn't "have to" be like this, but that's a suitcase as big as the world to unpack. Ah well. I've been liking who we've been getting out of it. Valkyrie, Jeanne, [Revice Spoiler] and Na-Go all give me life. 💖

Crazy how many changes we're noticing with the second arc, i can't tell if its good or bad yet but this episode was definitely bad. This could've been a really good debut if it wasn't tied to the movie.

Not really. Alchemy is the ability to make stuff out of objects and that is what they do.

The only problem I have with the episode is how the most punchable face of a character, a.k.a., Mr. punchable face a.k.a. Hotaro called back to the movie and said that Rinne “got her powers back.” Why? They should’ve had Majade debut in the show first, and then have her transform in the movie. I’m just waiting for the legend driver to show up in the series, and then get used by Professor Minato as sort of a redemption rider form. I would much rather see the professor behind the legend suit, and not Mr. Quartz.

Okay, two issues with that: 1- Legend Driver already as an owner so that won't be happening 2- minato is probably not going to be a Kamen Rider aside from Dread

Well for Rinne having her powers taken away. You can’t really ask “why were they taken away” as a fault on the show really as I’m pretty sure they explain why she doesn’t have her powers at the moment ever since the movie and up to episode 19 in the movie. I believe they said in episode 16 that she used up all of her alchemy I believe

@@akira8393 what do you mean? I'm not talking about Kudoh Rinne but the alchemy professor, the one that is currently Dread. Kudoh is a main rider now so she will have more spotlight than before
