Did I just purchase a Detective Comics #27 9.8???? Well YES SORT OF!!
On today's show I do a double CGC 9.8 unboxing. After attending SDCC and holding a real copy of Batman #1 in CGC 8.0 I got to thinking that I need some of these iconic books in my collection. While I'll never be able to own an original copy, I thought it would be proper to at least get some replicas to add to my display, so I thought you might get a kick watching me unbox some of my newest CGC DC Comics Books!!

I have the re print #27 as well very cool to have it and a few other reprints that are coming out on pre order in the next few months for those of us who dont have buckets of money to buy originals but these are pretty damn close 😉

Excellent CGC! Good thing since you are "The Batman Statue Collector". This legitimizes your overall collection. Show this quintessential CGC in the background proudly for your future videos. Good for you, Chris! Note: Warner Brothers are still going to make two more "The Batman" movies with Robert Pattinson. Rumor has it, more Batman movies with Ben Affleck. I still think that Ben is the best overall Batman. Keep on with your great videos, Chris!

Just started collecting again and also purchased a reprint of no 27 and no 1 of detective comics. Love your content and I also have purchased two statues to start my batman statue collection. Keep up the great work!

There is a facsimile edition coming out but it has a UPC code on the front cover. Tne Loot Crate version is without a UPC code on the front. For a collector/displayer the version without the UPC is the way to go as it is true to the original cover.

In the UK I pre-order a facsimile edition of detective comic #27 With the original ads in and stories and the back page back in June and it as been shipped. It's not in a slab and hasn't been graded but I paid £4.60. Plus action comic #1 facsimile edition. The same deal as well. If I knew you were after a copy I would have sent you one.

Your version will have a UPC code on the cover, correct? The Loot Crate version doesn't. Without UPC on the we cover is much more desirable to me than the version with the UPC.

@@Rhett-Christopher Hi I did say I would get back to you when the facsimile edition turn up. Yes there is a UPC at the bottom of the comic. 2cm width and 10cm long. My personal opinion it doesn't really detract from the cover itself. Saying that though I do understand the Virgin covers or more desirable. Let's be clear I wasn't taking the mickey out Chris for what he paid for his virgin cover. I was actually offering to ship comic from the UK to him. 👍🏿

I REALLY need to go through my collection. lol Collected comics from the early 80's to the mid-2000's, and have about 7-8K comics. Doubt i have the one you got though. Don't remember getting it.

@@BatmanStatueCollector Actually i watched this video and it convinced me it was high time to go through everything to see what i have. Comicbase has a real nice program for inventorying your collection so just waiting for the bags, boards and the scanner to arrive that i need to start the count.

@@BatmanStatueCollector Had to revise the amount i have. It's looking so far to be in the 6K+ range atm, but may be a bit above that. Won't know till i'm done the inventory. Already scanned and updated about 1000 comics so far into my Comicbase program, but have 5 footlockers and 2 long boxes of comics left to count. Do have some of the 80's Detective Comics but nothing as old as yours. :)
