The problem with the show is that they casted newbie actresses and expected them to “bring the show alive”. Actresses like Samantha, they literally tried for fun by auditioning on TikTok. These new actresses are afraid to offend Jack and probably unable to offer alternatives in the script or to tell Jack that certain lines are not going to work. If he casted seasoned actresses, they would be able to guide and streamline the way the characters are, making the show less cringy. I think there is also a problem in the way that the script was - is it meant to be a value-adding show, or is it meant to be a troll film? The direction of the film seems lost. In ABTM, the show was generally well received because it was somewhat realistic with strands of comedy in it. There was a purpose to the show. But in here, it was cheap comedy with little reality. And tbh, I am not sure what is worse. A horrible movie, or a horrible movie that wouldn’t stop promoting “happily” despite the backlash.

What I did like was the idea of the show, showing what army life could be like and what us as girls could experience, but all the plot points like you said was touch and go, no f[development and no depth. Because they didn’t actually research and understand properly what some girls experience in life, I felt like all so stereotypical and I mean in ah boys to men a lot of the plot points also very stereotypical, but there was at least some depth to their characters. I feel like that’s one problem in Singaporean media industry, especially for the script writing, everything is so awkward, nothing flows, direction of many movies and tv shows are so bad and they always use references from Korean dramas but can never successfully emulate it so it just becomes worse and is like my secondary school project. I felt like I’m the show, girls were portrayed as very shallow, I mean a few moments off they are generous but that was the entire vibe I got. Many of the, were amateur actresses that also haven’t been in serious movies before, many of them were guest casts in shows and were also always playing comedy characters. In ah boys to men it was a proper audition, and everyone got proper training as well, they understood how to play the character, but I feel like many of them couldn’t play the character, I wish there were also characters that wanted to enlist instead of just being forced to enlist cause then we could actually see the perspective of the women who is actually serving the nation. Maybe I missed it.

jack Neo’s Homerun movie was based on a Iranian movie called Children of Heaven. (Maybe that’s why it was good)

Homerun was good because it was a remake of an award winning Iranian movie, Children of Heaven. No way Jack Neo will ever be capable of making an original film of that level.

He did not watch ah girls go army part 1 and he judged part 2. I watch ah boys to man part 1 to part 4. And I watch ah girls go army part 1 and part 2. Both was funny. If you want to judged then try to make a movie and see how hard is it.

Talking bad about other people's movie just because you are not capable of doing it , it is damn low class . If you don't like the movie then just don't watch and keep your mouth shut lah .
