She was my finance professor in college - by far the best professor I had, always staying late (class ended at 9:10 PM) to provide her students extra help. Not saying this exonerates her but the accusations leveled against her do not match the person I knew. One of the nicest professors out there who always went above and beyond.

I would like for you to revisit this case now that so many police related people involved are under federal investigation. The claims of “I hit him” didn’t make it into any police or emt reports until much later, and even then some police at the scene claim to have never heard this. Statements have changes a whole lot from the first ones given for almost everyone involved… it’s just odd.

“Cellphone data shows he was moving after his death, which seems unlikely since dead people don’t move.” Wouldn’t the more logical explanation be that someone else was moving his cellphone? My phone can detect what side of the room I’m on in my house. 80 steps and 3 flights doesn’t seem like a mistake.

Too many things don't add up. 1. Everyone says John and Karen were getting along great that night 2. The Judge was actually a defense attorney for Albert family but refused to recuse herself 3. Evidence was collected in solo cups borrowed from a neighbour. Contaminated everything, and has no seal while they were kept near Karen's car. Could have easily transferred blood with how sloppy the investigation was 4. Tail light wasn't found until days later? 5. Alberts got rid of their perfectly good 5 year old family dog (German Shephard) shortly after the murder 6. Investigators knew the Alberts and never even tried to enter where John supposedly last was before being found dead on the front lawn. The detectives said there were no exigent circumstances (John was found dead in front of the house he was supposed to have spent the night drinking in) they didn't ask a judge for a warrant, or even bother to ask the Alberts for consent to search the house 7. The search for "how long does it take to die in the cold" search made at 2am 8. No one at the Albert house that night heard any screaming and didn't see John's body when arriving or leaving the house? 9. Karen was intoxicated, how was she able to reverse in the snow fast enough to hit John and kill him? And know he would die? Too much reasonable doubt to say Karen is guilty because she asked "did i hit him?" in some kind of 'my cousin vinny' type confession

Unless all the evidence on Karen's side is thrown out as inadmissible, I don't see her being convicted. The main witness against her is the sister-in-law of the police officer who lived in the house that John "never entered". And the jury pool is in an area where people are sick and tired of police officers who never seem to be able to interview witnesses and solve cases where cops are involved. If Karen was framed, she wouldn't be the first one that happened to. The initial "could I have hit him?" didn't turn into "I hit him. I hit him" until much later. Almost like she was coached by her sister and brother-in-law cop who lived in the house that John's phone entered without him. I can't wait to hear them explain the Google searches that were done from the inside of that house... This seems to be one of those cases where the investigation and witnesses is more suspicious than the suspect...

She would have had to strike him with a lot of speed in reverse to throw him 12 feet into the yard. She couldn’t be sure if he would die from this. Unless she had other people beat him up badly and be with her in the car with him and they bodily threw him into the snow, and they all drove off together, hoping he would be discovered by other party goers on the lawn. But her friend said she saw her car backing away and her not going into the party after seeing the car for a while out front and long enough for the friend to tell her to pull into the driveway.

The bodily injuries don't make sense - Apple Health data shows him moving around after Karen dropped him off at the party - guy snowplowing didn't see him when he came by - they have tail light pieces at the scene - do the tail light pieces have hair and blood on them - nope - I don't think she did this

This case makes no sense. The Commonwealth are alleging that Karen intentionally hit John in the front yard of the Albert house and left him to die, only to get back up at 5am and start calling around looking for him only to find him at 6am and say something to the extent of "did i hit him?" "i must have hit him". What about the dog scratches all over his arms? How did no one arriving or leaving see this happen or not see John's body in the yard until Karen found him? Why did the police never get a search warrant for the house the murder victim was supposed to be in? The detective just testified on the stand that the Albert house wasn't of interest so he never bothered to ask consent to search, or ask a judge for a warrant.. Something happened in that house

My take on the Karen Read case after day 4 of the trial. I was put off by Karen's behavior even before the trial. She did public interviews proclaiming her innocence. In my opinion she has manipulated a large group of protesters based on what she says is the truth. I expected to see at trial that her defense was going to prove that all the witnesses for the prosecution were liars and part of this whole set up. Instead what her lawyers did was bully, badger and try and trick them into changing their stories. When the witnesses were asked certain questions and her lawyers didn't get the right answers they kept harping at them until they got them to admit that a few minor details had changed. The judge should have stopped that bullying after the question was asked and answered the first time round. Karen has been treating this trial like she is some kind of a celebrity super star. She is waving and smiling at her fans as she enters the court house. Her behavior is repulsive. The first day Karen appeared to be cocky and confident. She appeared to be running the whole show including her lawyers. I noticed her body language change once the witnesses began to testify one after the other stating she said she hit him. In my opinion to even suggest that fire fighers, LE and medics were all part of this conspiracy to frame her is a joke. In my opinion so far I believe this is what happened. I believe the relationship between Karen and John was falling apart and she knew it. She saw him kissing another woman and became angry. They were fighting about the kids all the time. It appeared the relationship was nearing its end. They were obviously on bad terms the day of the murder. I do not know why Karen did not attend that house party but it was clear she was very upset when she dropped John off. Karen was asked how many drinks she had before she dropped John off and she clearly lied and said 4 when it was proven she had at least 9 drinks. She was clearly very very drunk. It was clear to me she sped off from that house drunk and angry. I believe she backed into John and simply sped off. I also believe she knew she had hit him and that is why the search was done on how long it takes for a person to die in the cold. I believe she went home as she said and passed out drunk waking up at the early hours that morning. I believe she realized when he wasn't home that she may have hit him. She called friends pretending not to know what had happened but she does mention she had a cracked head light. The idea or suggestion that officers went to another location to retrieve pieces of her broken tail light to frame her was beyond a joke. I believe she called friends to make sure she had witnesses. I believe that horrific behavior at the scene was all planned and acted out. Karen never once says or even suggests that John had been killed by people in that house. This story came later and grew as time went on. I do believe Karen killed John in a drunk furious rage as she was leaving that house. I also believe she knew what she had done and still went home passed out and woke up a few hours later pretending not to know where John was.

She said that she dropped him off and saw him make it to the door. Then when she came back in the morning, the firefighter said she told him she hit him, she hit him. But how could you think you hit him if you saw him walk off the door..?

Missing so much pertinent information. Why did one of the party goers google “how to die in the cold at 2:27 hours before the body was found and they knew he was dead. Why did that same person call another friend and tell her Johnny was dead at 4:55 am? Again, over and hour before they found him outside. Read the police reports. Nobody saw his body? But 8 people left and the snow plow driver drove by 3 times and said there was no body there.

No mention of the following? -Those lacerations look more like animal scratches and the house did have such a large dog. This dog was re-located out of state. If these scratches were abrasions from road rash then O Keefe was wearing some type of short sleeved clothing in the winter? Ok. -The house was then sold $50k below market value. -A snow plow driver drove by that road between 12 am and 5 am and did not see the body where it was later discovered. The police report filed listed the snow plowing company as an entirely different name thus the snow plow driver wasn’t interviewed. This snow plow driver will be now testifying for the defense. -Karen was drunk but this entire group of friends consisting mainly of LE let her DUI? -If it was a death by blunt force trauma to the head, why does O keefe also have two black eyes, a cut underneath one of his eyes in additional to a skull fracture? Did Karen Read punch him and then ran him over? -Why is the Boston DA crying on TV like a baby and putting ‘evidence’ over the media? For example, he stated that cell phone data suggests O keefe never enter the home. Yet at the same time, the prosecution is saying that Apple health data is unreliable and the time of the suspect google search is unreliable as well? How is that going to come across to a jury? -so their friend supposedly never arrives to their house as agreed and they don’t even send him a text like “hey, where are you?” or “are you still coming?” But they do google the question about how long it takes for someone to die in the cold? Which was searched at 2 am, 3 hours prior to the discovery of the body. -O keefes phone was found underneath his body and not in his pocket. Why is his phone outside of his pocket with no record of usage? No phone call attempts for help? why wasn’t it flung elsewhere on the scene? Or found in his hands at least?

why is a defense being labeled as a 'conspiracy theory'? it is the prosecution's obligation to prove their allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. the defense is allowed to cross-examine and rebut the prosecution's case. if there is doubt in what the prosecution says, why isn't their case called a 'conspiracy theory' then too?

Why didn’t the homeowner come out of the house to help or render aid? He hid in his house. Why is the lead detective a close friend of the families who did this.

I have been following this case for a hot minute and I firmly believe that Karen Read is the scapegoat in lieu of holding LE brothers accountable imho.

WHY delete any data on a phone unless you are attempting to COVER UP something?

I think this one is going to come down to expert testimony about the wounds, time of death, etc. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the dog that the homeowner’s were alleged to have had for years and then removed from their home shortly after the death. I recall the defense attorney said that some of the wounds are misidentified bite marks from a dog. Maybe you did and I was spaced out for a second or something. Lastly, it felt kind of loaded to me the way you kept calling the idea a conspiracy theory. It also would have been factually accurate to call it an “alleged coverup”. I find some of the claims put out by the defense compelling but we’ll have to see if they’re strongly supported by evidence or easily refuted at trial.

Can you imagine if Karen Read had googled "hos long to die in cold"? Also, there was a witness who arrived at 34 Fairview at the same time Karen & John did... Ryan Nagel. He was there to pick up his sister, Julie Nagel who was in the home that night. Julie Nagel came out to the car where her brother had pulled up behind Karen... closer to the driveway & apparently came out of the home to tell him she no longer needed a ride & she planned to stay overnight. Ryan Negel told police as he left, he saw Karen's SUV was parked, the light inside her car was on & her hands were at 10 & 2. He said he didn't see anyone else in the vehicle. 🤷‍♀️

5:49 this was to proven to be a lie from Jen McCabe. Jen said Karen showed them the taillight after they parked at John’s house, but the ring camera showed they parked didn’t say a word, and walked inside. Jen lied on the stand.

So, with your reference to her being upset that John was doing to dump her, are you saying she was aware she struck him and left him there to die? Or was she drunk and unaware that she struck him, but afterwards realized she "might" have struck him because she was drunk? So either she intended the murder, she killed him when drunk, or something else. I don't know how bad the relationship was at that time and whether the woman was angry that he was going to dump her, in order to know if there was intent or this was yet another drunken accident. I'd say, if any evidence illustrated she was very angry at John and was vindictive in nature, she intentionally hit him and left him to die. If not and if she is a loving caring person ordinarily, she likely committed vehicular homicide not murder. I have no idea. Only thing I know is that John was NOT GUILTY of anything and should not have been murdered and left to die in the cold.

This is why it’s best to not do any “analysis” until a court case has been presented.

Killing a cop in Boston is tantamount to killing an Irish mob bone maker. Not a smart move. At least to me, it is obvious that the Boston PD NEEDED to pin it on someone, and Karen Read was an obvious target. Did she kill Johnny? Honestly, even as an investigator, I don't even know if SHE knows that she did it . The details are convoluted, and her changing stories make her look guilty of something. This unusual case proves to me that all because a person is "educated," does not mean they're smart. I would have had to investigate the crime scene for myself, in order to put the pieces together. But going into Boston PD's turf would be like "stepping into a rival mob's turf," regardless of just wanting to help. In any case, Karen is screwed.. .

The DA is overcharging her. I find it suspicious that the DA is discounting all cell phone data that seems to exculpate the defendant. Also, there is dispute whether victim was bit by dog. Apparently, the dog never left house, so if he was bit, the victim was in the house. This case will be decided upon reasonable doubt.

The victim exits the vehicle walks to the rear of the SUV drops the cup bends over to pick it up. Defendant is not paying attention backs up striking him. Defendant knew she had struck the victim based on her statement. She was DUI problem for defendant is she left the scene leaving the victim to die due to exposure and this is the 2nd degree murder charge.

She was drunk, so was he and she was also driving. Someone there saw something. And I do not believe she killed him .But I think she did hit him accidentally and he was so drunk he laid there and got hypothermia and died. This is what alcohol does to people.

I think this was an accident. Karen was drunk and it was at night. Karen probably didn’t see John and wasn’t sure if she hit him or not when she heard a thud. Drunk people are not very alert or aware.

I'm still dubious tbh , the marks on John look like dog bites , the house owner had a dog and they got rid of it soon after , same with the house , that was sold quickly and under value. The fitness tracker by apple are usually reliable, cars do not make it show steps going up 3 floors ,,if it did everyone would be taking them back and wanting a refund , so imo he did go up steps and did walk that distance, as for moving after he was dead , the people could have moved his body and put it where he was found. My counter theory is that he went into the home , at some stage asked to use the toilet, the dog attacked because he was a stranger biting him severely, he would have needed the hospital, the owner got worried about the dog bite, an argument happened, he was killed from a physical fight and left in the snow , the police then staged the crime in a cover up. Also if you can see out of the window enough to see an SUV pull up and then leave at specific times , why did she not see the SUV make a 3 point turn, and if she can see an SUV pull up and leave , why couldn't she see the accident , she either couldn't see an SUV and is making it up , or she saw it pull up and leave dropping John off.

Yes. I do believe she hit him with her car. Possibly backing up, he raised his arm with a drink glass in hand to block it, smashing the rear taillight, and equating to the blood and broken glass on her bumper and the scratches on his arm as he was wearing light weight clothing. He could have Possibly hit his head on a curb, fire hydrant or flag pole due to his proximity when found. His phone was found under his body. It is documented she drank excessively that night and voice mail and texts proves she was angry. She also called friends asking, did I hit him? It was a snowy night. Slippery roads. I do believe she accidentally hit him and he fell hitting his head. I do not believe in the conspiracy about the people hosting the party. I do have one hesitation, which is his apple watch showing he took 80 steps up and down stairs potentially. Aside from that I do believe she is the cause of his death. May he rest in peace. He seemed to be a very nice person.

How can they frame Karen if she hit him with her car?

I work in auto collision industry for over 30 years. Why no one is showing Jonh's car after it made contact "supposedly" with Karen's SUV. From home camera video I am confident both bumpers would have clear marks of contact as well as his quarter panel. If the tail light was cracked there should be a noticeable damage to his car. 🤷

Every time I see a video from Dr. Grande, I am amazed at what he has to say. But then I'm more amazed by the endless content he can talk about and how many more videos you can come up with. There's always some crazy person out there waiting to do something, and there's Millions of other stories already out there.

Strange how the tailight lens isnt broken at all & the officer that was with it while being loaded on the flatbed even said it was only cracked when he looked at it at her fathers house. You can clearly see in the Ring video that the lens is complete. Who do they think theyer fooling?

Dr. grande missed an important contradiction. Under inculpatory evidence he cited the security cameras which record at John’s house and that Karen could have deleted footage to hide her arrival. Under exculpatory evidence, he showed the collision of Karen backing into John’s car. The conspiracy theorists accuse the police of gathering the broken tail light pieces from John’s house, and planting at the crime scene. If the police did that, wouldn’t those actions be caught on video as well? Other factors, Dr. grande did not consider are: Police cars and officers now are routinely equipped with cameras. Where is the evidence from those cameras? Most police vehicles are equipped with GPS locators as part of their in car computer system. Where is the GPS locator Data showing the police going from Jon’s house where they gather the evidence back to the crime scene to plant the evidence? Cops carry cell phones either Department or personal or both. If the cops planted evidence from Jon’s house to the crime scene, there should be GPS data showing those travels.

The 2nd degree murder arises from her leaving him injured to die in the snow as she led everyone on a wild goose chase to cover her ass.

She easily could have be backed into him hard enough to kill. Its a damm suv. She's going down.

It's kind of funny how I hear Kerry Roberts and Jen McCabe telling us on the witness stand about Karen telling them about the broken taillight when they got to John's house and pointed it out. When Jen tells it, the ADA then plays a video of it, and guess what? All it shows is the three of them going into the house. Then Kerry Roberts gets on the stand and ADA plays the video first and Kerry starts telling the same story, but then stops herself, realizing they were both caught in a lie. At least you are fair here and do not completely buy the CW's kook-aid, but after the trial, most people think she's not guilty. Hopefully, the FBI will find something and start making real arrests.
